Bonnie Elizabeth Parker and Clyde Chestnut (Champion) Barrow were American criminals who traveled the Central United States with their gang during the Great Depression. The couple were known for their bank robberies, although they preferred to rob small stores or rural funeral homes. Their exploits captured the attention of the American press and its readership during what is occasionally referred to as the "public enemy era" between 1931 and 1934. They were ambushed by police and shot to death in Bienville Parish, Louisiana. They are believed to have murdered at least nine police officers and four civilians.

Vigrid is a Norwegian neopagan sect founded by Tore W. Tvedt in 1998 that combines racial theories with Norse mythology. The group is widely regarded as neo-Nazi, and is considered to have an "extremely racist and violent ideology" by the Norwegian Police Security Service (PST). The group is known for their ceremonies and rituals including "baptisms". In 2009, the group registered as a political party and ran for the parliamentary election in one county, receiving 179 votes. The group was disbanded from 2009 to 2013, but has since resumed activities in a limited form, and "now orients its online operations towards an alt-right audience".
Braathens SAFE Flight 139 was an aircraft hijacking that occurred in Norway on 21 June 1985. The incident took place on a Boeing 737-205 belonging to Braathens SAFE that was on a scheduled flight from Trondheim Airport, Værnes to Oslo Airport, Fornebu. The hijacker was Stein Arvid Husby, who was drunk during most of the incident. It was the first plane hijacking to take place in Norway; there were no deaths and no injuries. Husby was sentenced to three years' imprisonment and five years' detention.

The Bærum mosque shooting or Al-Noor Islamic Centre shooting occurred on 10 August 2019 at the Al-Noor Islamic Centre mosque in Bærum, Norway, about 20 kilometres (12 mi) west of the capital city Oslo. Philip Manshaus, a 21-year-old Norwegian man, shot and killed his adopted stepsister at their home. He then drove to the mosque and shot his way through the glass door before opening fire, hitting no one. He was subdued by three worshippers after a scuffle and turned over to police. He was convicted of murder and committing an act of terrorism, and sentenced to 21 years preventative detention.
