Klajda Gjosha (born 28 July 1983 in Tirana,Albania) is an Albanian politician,who served as Minister of European Integration from 15 September 2013 to 11 september 2017 in the Edi Rama first government. [1]
Gjosha attended secondary education at the advanced level at Strode College,in the United Kingdom,and went on to obtain a bachelor's degree in Political Sciences and International Relations (2005) and a master's degree in European Studies (2006) from the University of Reading.
From 2006 to 2012 Gjosha worked as director at the Tirana Municipality,Director of Agenda Consulting and Research Company,Director of Marketing-Promotion in the National Tourism Agency,Assistant Representative for WAZ Albania at WAZ Medien Gruppe,and social worker at European Care LTD Company.
In 2012 she was nominated as Deputy Chair of the Socialist Movement for Integration (LSI) party,and Member of the party Chairmanship,Chair of the SMI Women Forum
In 2012-2013 Gjosha served for three months as Deputy Minister of Labour,Social Affairs and Equal Opportunities in the Sali Berisha government,until the departure of LSI from the government coalition.
From 2013 to 2017,she served as Minister of European Integration of the Republic of Albania,and Deputy Chair of the Socialist Movement for Integration (LSI)
Edi Rama is an Albanian politician,painter,writer,former university lecturer,publicist and former basketball player,who has served as the 33rd and incumbent Prime Minister of Albania since 2013 and chairman of the Socialist Party of Albania since 2005. He was appointed Minister of Culture,Youth and Sports in 1998,an office he held until 2000. First elected mayor of Tirana in 2000,he was reelected in 2003 and 2007.

The 2011 Albanian opposition demonstrations were a series of Antigovernment protests in cities around Albania following 18 months of political conflict over alleged electoral fraud by the opposition. A video surfaced which portrayed the deputy prime minister arranging a corrupt deal with the minister of economy. The public outcry over the video resulted in the resignation of the deputy prime minister,Ilir Meta. A demonstration was called by parliamentary opposition parties,which include the Socialist Party and the Unity for Human Rights Party. These were called on 21 January in order to protest the alleged corruption of the Albanian government as well as widespread unemployment and poverty in the country.

Squatting in Albania began on a large scale in the 1990s after the fall of communism,with internal migration towards formerly collectivised farmland establishing informal settlements. One such area,Bathore on the periphery of the capital Tirana,had 40,000 squatters by the early 2000s who successfully campaigned for better amenities. Other squatters occupied severely polluted post-industrial sites. The Agency of Legalization,Upgrading,and Integration of Informal Zones and Buildings (ALUIZNI) had legalized 16,500 homes on 152 settlements by 2009. As of 2020,25 per cent of the population of Albania's cities lived in informal settlements.
