Chief Kola Muslim Animasaun (born 5 July 1939) is a Nigerian journalist, columnist and former Chairman of the editorial board of The Vanguard , Nigeria's leading newspaper. [1] His book, From 1939 to the Vanguard of Moodern Journalism, was launched at the Nigerian Institute of International Affairs, Lagos in July 2012 and the occasion was attended by Chief Bola Tinubu, the national leader of the All Progressives Congress, and Abiola Ajimobi, the Governor of Oyo State, southwestern Nigeria. Journalism career

He began his career in journalism in July 1961 when he joined The Express through the late Olabisi Onabanjo, the former Governor of Ogun State who was then the Editorial Director of the Daily Express. On 25 August 1961 Muslim left The Express for London where he obtained a diploma certificate in Journalism from London School of Journalism. [3] After he completed the diploma programme, he worked briefly with Cecil Dennis, the founder and publisher of the Liberian Listener. Before he returned to Nigeria to join the Nigerian Tribune. [4] He later joined the Vanguard, founded by Chief Sam Amuka Pemu as a Chief sub-editor before he rose to the position of Chairman of the editorial board of the Newspaper. [5]

Fashola was re-elected on 26 April 2011. On November 11th 2015, he was appointed by President Muhammadu Buhari to be the Minister of Power, Works and Housing; he was reappointed Minister of Works & Housing on 21 August 2019.

Abati was Special Adviser on Media and Publicity to President Goodluck Jonathan of Nigeria between Year 2011 and 2015. He was previously a newspaper columnist and the chairman of the editorial board of the Nigerian newspaper The Guardian from 2001 to 2011. He is a graduate of Theater Arts from the University of Calabar. Equally important, Reuben Abati is a Senior Research Associate with the Olusegun Obasanjo Centre for Cultural Studies and National Open University of Nigeria (NOUN).

Rotimi Akeredolu Nigerian politician

Oluwarotimi Odunayo Akeredolu, SAN, is a Nigerian politician and lawyer who is currently the Governor of Ondo State, in office since February 24, 2017. His adopted prefix is "Arakunrin", while his nickname is "Aketi". He is a Senior Advocate of Nigeria (SAN) who became president of the Nigerian Bar Association in 2008. Akeredolu was also a Managing Partner at the Law Firm of Olujinmi & Akeredolu, a Law Firm he co-founded with Chief Akin Olujinmi, a former Attorney General and Minister for Justice in Nigeria. On 21 July 2020, he was declared as the Ondo governorship candidate after the primary elections under the platform of the APC. He is the current Governor of Ondo State and doubles as the chairman of Southwest Governors Forum.

Lamidi Ona-Olapo Adesina was an educator who became governor of Oyo State in Nigeria on 29 May, 1999 during the 1999 Oyo State gubernatorial election as a member of the Alliance for Democracy (AD) party.

Abiola Ajimobi Nigerian politician (1949–2020)

Senator Isiaka Abiola Adeyemi Ajimobi was a Nigerian politician from Oyo State, south-western Nigeria. He was formerly the Managing Director/Chief Executive Officer of the National Oil and Chemical Marketing Company, a subsidiary of Shell Petroleum, Nigeria. He left the oil sector in 2002 after 26 years of meritorious service and was elected in 2003 as a Senator of the Republic of Nigeria representing Oyo South Senatorial District on the platform of the Alliance for Democracy (AD). After one term in the senate, he contested in 2007 for the governorship seat of Oyo state under the banner of the All Nigeria People's Party, a bid which he lost. He contested again in the April 2011 gubernatorial elections under the Action Congress of Nigeria and was elected Governor of Oyo State in a closely contested vote. In 2019, he was succeeded by Oluwaseyi Makinde. He contested for Senator for his senatorial district but lost. In June 2020, he was confirmed to have COVID-19 and was announced dead on the 25th of June.

Femi Hamzat Nigerian politician and Deputy Governor of Lagos State

Femi Hamzat is a Nigerian politician who serves as the Deputy Governor of Lagos State. He was born in Lagos, Nigeria into the family of Late Oba Mufutau Olatunji Hamzat and Late Alhaja Kehinde Hamzat from Iga Egbe, Lagos state. He was born in Sapele, a city in Delta State, southern Nigeria, into the family of the late Pa Amuka-Pemu and Madam Teshoma Amuka-Pemu, who died in May 2014.

The Lion of Bourdillon is a 2015 documentary film aired by Africa Independent Television, a Nigerian Television Station popularly known as AIT. The film centers on the political life of Senator Bola Tinubu, the former Lagos State Governor and the National leader of the All Progressives Congress. Fisayo Soyombo Nigerian Journalist

Fisayo Soyombo, is a Nigerian investigative journalist and founder of the Foundation for Investigative Journalism (FIJ). He was a former editor at The Cable. He is best known, among other things, for being the Nigerian undercover journalist who spent five days in a police cell as a suspect and eight as an inmate in Ikoyi Prison — to track corruption in Nigeria’s criminal justice system, after which the authorities contemplated arresting him. He was also the journalist who drove the equivalent of a stolen vehicle from Abuja to Lagos, passing through a whopping 86 checkpoints in a journey of over 1,600km that lasted a cumulative 28hours 17minutes.

The 2019 Nigerian Senate election in Oyo State held on February 23, 2019, to elect members of the Nigerian Senate to represent Oyo State. Abdulfatai Buharirepresenting Oyo North and Teslim Folarin representing Oyo Central won on the platform of All Progressives Congress while Kola Balogun representing Oyo South won on the platform of Peoples Democratic Party.
