Kolbjørn Almlid (born 2 June 1945) is a Norwegian businessperson and politician for the Centre Party.

The Centre Party is an agrarian centrist political party in Norway. Founded in 1920 as a Nordic agrarian party, the Centre Party's policy is not based on any of the major ideologies of the 19th and 20th century, but has a focus on maintaining decentralised economic development and political decision-making.

He hails from Verran.^[1] From 1989 to 1990, during Syse's Cabinet, he was appointed State Secretary in the Ministry of Petroleum and Energy. He served as a deputy representative to the Parliament of Norway from Nord-Trøndelag during the term 1989–1993. From 1991 to 1995 he was county mayor of Nord-Trøndelag.^[2] Outside politics, he was a director in the Norwegian Industrial and Regional Development Fund, later named Innovation Norway following a merger.^[3]

Verran is a municipality in Trøndelag county, Norway. It is part of the Innherred region. The administrative centre of the municipality is the village of Malm. Other villages in Verran include Follafoss, Sela, Verrabotn, and Verrastranda.

Syse's Cabinet was a minority centre-right Conservative, Centre, Christian Democrat Government of Norway. It succeeded the Labour Second cabinet Brundtland after the 1989 election, and sat between 16 October 1989 and 3 November 1990. It was replaced by the Labour Third cabinet Brundtland after Centre left the coalition due to disagreement over possible Norwegian membership in the European Economic Area. This disagreement was anticipated as the cabinet operated with a suicide paragraph from the beginning. Syse's cabinet had the following composition:

In Norway, a State Secretary is a partisan political position within the executive branch of government. Contrary to the position Secretary of State in many other countries, the Norwegian State Secretary does not head his or her Ministry, rather, they are second in rank to a Minister. Resembling a de facto vice minister, the State Secretary, however, cannot attend a Council of State, and does not act as a temporary Minister in case of illness or other leave of absence.

Almlid has chaired the Central Norway Regional Health Authority from 2006 to 2012,^[1]^[4] and Nord-Trøndelag Elektrisitetsverk,^[3] and was a board member of Vinmonopolet from 1998 to 2000.^[2] In 2011 he became chair of Statnett.^[5]

Central Norway Regional Health Authority is a state-owned regional health authority responsible for operating the hospitals in the counties of Nord-Trøndelag, Sør-Trøndelag and Møre og Romsdal in Norway. Based in Stjørdal, the authority operates five health trusts that operate nine hospitals. It is led by chairman Kolbjørn Almlid and CEO Stig Arild Slørdahl.

Nord-Trøndelag Elektrisitetsverk or NTE is a power company serving Nord-Trøndelag in Norway and owned by Nord-Trøndelag county municipality. NTE is one of the largest producers of electricity in Norway, with an annual production of 3,4 TWh per year (2013). In addition the company is a provider of electrical installation and electrical application retailing as well as optic fiber broadband. The company has its headquarters in Steinkjer.

Vinmonopolet, symbolized by Ⓥ and colloquially shortened to Polet, is a government-owned alcoholic beverage retailer and the only company allowed to sell beverages containing an alcohol content higher than 4.75% in Norway.

Later, they also entered service on the Meråker Line as part of the international Mittnabotåget service. Previously, the trains were also used on the Solør Line, further north on the Nordland Line and on the now electrified Arendal Line. In 2000, a unit was involved in the Åsta accident; which killed 19 people. The trains were refurbished in 2005 and 2006, and NSB plans to replace them by around 2019. Each twin unit seats 168 people, is 49.45 meters (162.2 ft) long and weighs 92 tonnes. The front car is powered with two electric motors, giving a power output of 714 kilowatts (957 hp) and a maximum speed of 140 kilometers per hour (87 mph).

TrønderBilene AS is a bus company operating in Trøndelag, Norway. As of 2009, it has 324 employees and 238 buses, and is owned by Torghatten ASA. The company operates both coach, bus, charter and school routes, as well as some truck and garage services. The areas of operation are Innherred, Namdalen, Fosen, Hitra and Frøya. TrønderBilene runs three town bus services: Buster in Steinkjer, Blåmann in Levanger and Verdalsøra, and Elgen in Namsos. The coach service from Namsos to Trondheim is part of NOR-WAY Bussekspress.

Rørvik Airport, Ryum is a regional airport located at Ryumsjøen, about 6 kilometers (4 mi) south of the village of Rørvik in the municipality of Vikna in Trøndelag County, Norway. The airport is owned and operated by the state-owned Avinor and serves the municipalities of Vikna and Nærøy. The airport has a 950-meter (3,117 ft) asphalt runway numbered 04–22. Widerøe flies to the airport with its Bombardier Dash 8 aircraft on contract with the Ministry of Transport and Communications. The airport opened in 1986 as a municipal airport. It was first served by Norving, but Widerøe took over the flights in 1988. The airport was nationalized in 1996. Ryum served 33,532 passengers in 2014.

The Trøndelag Commuter Rail is a commuter train service operating in Trøndelag county, Norway. It is operated by Norwegian State Railways (NSB) with Class 92 diesel multiple units. The service provides a commuter service connecting Trondheim to its suburbs, between towns in Innherred and as an airport rail link for Trondheim Airport, Værnes. Although passenger services have operated along the lines since 1864, the commuter train was created with an increase of service with existing rolling stock in 1993. In 2006, the system had at least 1,180,000 passengers.

Nord-Trøndelag County Municipality is the regional governing administration of Nord-Trøndelag, Norway. The main responsibilities of the county municipality includes the running of 12 upper secondary schools, with 7,000 pupils. It administrates 1,771 km of county roadways, public transport, dental care, culture and cultural heritage.

Lånkebanen is a road racing circuit situated near Hell in Lånke, Stjørdal, Norway. The venue opened in 1987 as the first asphalt track in the country. It is used for a variety of motorsports, including rallycross, go-kart and motorcycle racing. The venue also features a designated hillclimbing and a motocross track on the slopes below, and a harness racing oval. Lånkebanen is owned by the Norwegian Automobile Federation (NAF).
