Terence Kona Hislop (born 21 December 1970) is an English former footballer who played as a midfielder for Livingston.

Playing career

Hislop began college career at Syracuse University in 1988, playing for the Syracuse Orange. [1] He studied at Howard University, Washington, D.C. and played football for Howard Bison. [2]

Hislop began his professional career playing at Livingston and made 4 appearances for Livi, scoring one goal. [3] [4] [5]

The winger signed for Hartlepool United in 1996 and appeared 27 times. It was to be his only season for the club, before leaving in the summer of 1997. [6] [7] [8]

He signed for Blyth Spartans after his departure from Victoria Park. [9]

Coaching Career

As of 2024, Hislop is coaching in Trinidad and Tobago for Pro Series, a local youth team. [10]

Personal life

Kona is the brother of former West Ham and Trinidad and Tobago goalkeeper, Shaka Hislop, [11] [12] and the cousin of American sprinter Natasha Hastings. [13]

On October 10, 2017, Trinidad and Tobago played against the United States at the Ato Boldon Stadium in Couva in what was the final 2018 FIFA World Cup qualification match for both teams. Trinidad and Tobago won the match 2–1 which resulted in the United States missing their first World Cup since 1986, as well as Trinidad and Tobago's first win over the United States since 2008, and their third win against them in international association football.
