The College of Life Sciences and Biotechnology is the largest BT college in the country with 90 full-time faculty, 1,400 undergraduate students, and 450 graduate students. The College merged the existing College of Life Sciences and College of Life and Environmental Sciences and unified the departmental structures. It restructured and merged the Division of Life Sciences by merging the College of Life Sciences' Departments of Biology, Food Science, and Genetic Engineering, and College of Life and Environmental Sciences' Divisions of Life and Genetic Engineering, Bio Industry Sciences, Food Sciences, and Environmental and Ecology, and the Department of Food and Resources Economics.

Biotechnology is a broad area of biology, involving the use of living systems and organisms to develop or make products. Depending on the tools and applications, it often overlaps with related scientific fields. In the late 20th and early 21st centuries, biotechnology has expanded to include new and diverse sciences, such as genomics, recombinant gene techniques, applied immunology, and development of pharmaceutical therapies and diagnostic tests. The term biotechnology was first used by Karl Ereky in 1919, meaning the production of products from raw materials with the aid of living organisms.

Mawlana Bhashani Science and Technology University (MBSTU) is the 12th public university and 2nd science and technology specialized public university in Bangladesh focusing in science, technology and business. It is named after the charismatic political leader Mawlana Abdul Hamid Khan Bhashani. The medium of instruction is English. Every year, in total 815 students are enrolled in undergraduate programs to study in this institution. The number of teachers is about 206. Alauddin is vice-chancellor again for 4 years (2017-2021) after his first tenure (2013-2017).
Shimane University — colloquially known as Shima-dai (島大) — is a national university in Japan. Although formally established as a university in 1949, Shima-dai's origins date back to the late 19th century. In 2003 it merged with the Shimane Medical University. It is a multi-disciplinary university, with faculties in law and literature, education, medicine, science and engineering, and life and environmental science. The university has graduate schools in humanities and social sciences, education, medical research, science and engineering, life and environmental science, and law. Shima-dai has approximately 6,000 students, more than 750 academic staff and over 400 support staff. It was the first public university in Japan to establish an interdisciplinary department integrating natural sciences and engineering. The motto is 'Shimane University — growing with people and with the region' (人とともに 地域とともに 島根大学).

The University of Kentucky College of Agriculture is a public agricultural college at the University of Kentucky. The college was renamed the College of Agriculture, Food, and Environment on July 1, 2013. The name change incorporates the college's expanded role that occurred with the merger of the College of Human Environmental Sciences into the College of Agriculture and also demonstrates the college's response to key components of Kentucky's economic future. Gachon University is an academic institute located in South Korea. The current structure of Gachon university is the result of a merger between four existing universities. Gachon University of Medicine and Science and Gachon-gil College merged in 2007, Kyungwon University and Kyungwon College merged in 2007, and Gachon University of Medicine and Science and Kyungwon University merged in 2012. Gachon University has three campuses for undergraduates, the Global Campus (primary) located in Seongnam, satellite campuses on Ganghwa Island and in Yeonsu-dong, and the School of Medicine in Guwol-dong, Namdong-gu, Incheon, South Korea. Gachon University signed a strategic partnership with Hawaii Pacific to allow students to study abroad.
The Lilongwe University of Agriculture and Natural Resources (LUANAR) is a university outside Lilongwe, Malawi. It was formed in 2011 by a merger between Bunda College of Agriculture of the University of Malawi and Natural Resources College (NRC).
