Korzhin Island (also known as Kurzhin, Kurdzhyn, Korzhun, Kurzhon or Kurdzhun Island) is a long and flat island in Lake Balkhash in Kazakhstan. It is located in the central portion of the lake. [1] [2]
Korzhin is a desert island having a length of 13.5 km (8.4 mi) and a maximum width of 0.8 km (0.50 mi). [3]
Administratively Korzhin Island belongs to the Almaty Province of Kazakhstan.

Lake Balkhash is a lake in southeastern Kazakhstan, one of the largest lakes in Asia and the 15th largest in the world. It is located in the eastern part of Central Asia and sits in the Balkhash-Alakol Basin, an endorheic (closed) basin. The basin drains seven rivers, the primary of which is the Ili, bringing most of the riparian inflow; others, such as the Karatal, bring surface and subsurface flow. The Ili is fed by precipitation, largely vernal snowmelt, from the mountains of China's Xinjiang region.
The Turgay is a river in Kazakhstan. It has a length of 825 km (513 mi) and a drainage basin of 157,000 km2 (61,000 sq mi).
The Caspian Sea is the world's largest inland body of water, often described as the world's largest lake and sometimes referred to as a full-fledged sea. An endorheic basin, it lies between Europe and Asia: east of the Caucasus, west of the broad steppe of Central Asia, south of the fertile plains of Southern Russia in Eastern Europe, and north of the mountainous Iranian Plateau. It covers a surface area of 371,000 km2 (143,000 sq mi), an area approximately equal to that of Japan, with a volume of 78,200 km3 (19,000 cu mi). It has a salinity of approximately 1.2%, about a third of the salinity of average seawater. It is bounded by Kazakhstan to the northeast, Russia to the northwest, Azerbaijan to the southwest, Iran to the south, and Turkmenistan to the southeast.

Lake Kopa is a lake in the city of Kokshetau, located on the territory of Akmola Region close to the foot of Kokshetau Elevation in the northern part of Kazakhstan. Its elevation is 223.8 m (734 ft) above sea level and has a maximum depth of about 6 m. It is 5.6 km long and 12 km wide. The total surface area of it the lake is about 14 km2 (5.4 sq mi) depending on water level. It is fed by 2 rivers and is drained by the Shagalaly. The area of Lake Kopa fluctuates year to year, but in recent years the size of the lake has been decreasing overall. Kopa is used for fishery.
Burabay is a prominent lake of the Kokshetau Lakes, a group of lakes in northern Kazakhstan, located in the Burabay District of Akmola Region, in the eastern part of the Kokshetau Hills.
Koshkar-Ata is a lake in Mangystau Region, southwest Kazakhstan. It lies 5 km (3.1 mi) north of the regional capital of Aktau and 8 km (5.0 mi) from the shores of the Caspian Sea. It is 36 m (118 ft) below sea level. It is a serious environmental and health hazard.
Siletiteniz, also Seletyteniz, Seletytengiz is an endorheic salt lake located in the Ishim Plain, part of the West Siberian Plain. The lake lies in North Kazakhstan, with the Pavlodar Region border running along the eastern lakeshore and the Kazakhstan-Russia border 6 kilometers (3.7 mi) to the north of the northeastern end.
