Krishna Bhakta Pokhrel (born 4 July 1967) is a Nepali communist politician and was a member of the House of Representatives of the federal parliament of Nepal. [2] He was elected to the House of Representatives in 2018 as a part of his second term having previously been elected to the second constituent assembly in 2013. [3]
He is a lawyer by profession and had been practising law at Chitwan District Court for more than 20 years,as of 2013. [3]
He was born on 4 July 1967 in Parbatipur-4,Chitwan. [3] He has three daughters. [3]
He joined politics as a student and served as secretary of ANNFSU,the student wing of CPN UML in 1992. [3] He also became the vice-chairman of Chitwan district working committee for the party. [3] As of 2013,had been a CPN UML Chitwan district committee member for 20 years. [3]
In the second constituent assembly election held in 2013,he was the candidate for CPN UML in Chitwan-3 constituency and defeated Narayan Dahal of CPN (Maoist Centre). [4] [3]
For his current term,he was elected under the first-past-the-post system from Chitwan-2 constituency as a candidate from CPN UML of the left alliance. Following his election to parliament,he was appointed chair of the rule-drafting committee of the House. [2] He is also the Chairperson of the Law,Justice and Human Rights Committee of the House. [5]

In the 2008 Constituent Assembly election,Adhikari was elected from the Kaski-3 constituency,with 13,386 votes. In the 2013 Constituent Assembly election,he was re-elected from the Kaski-3 constituency,with 15,456 votes. In 2017,CPN-UML candidate Rabindra Adhikari won parliamentary elections from Kaski Constituency No. 2. Representing the left alliance,Adhikari secured 27,207 votes to defeat Nepali Congress candidate Dev Raj Chalise,who got 18,661 votes. After his demise,his wife Bidya Bhattarai won Kaski Constituency-2 with a wide margin of 8,403 votes in the by-election. Bhattarai secured 24,394 votes while her nearest contender Khem Raj Poudel from main opposition Nepali Congress got 15,991. Likewise,Socialist Party's Dharma Raj Gurung got 1,922 votes. He authored the books Constituent Assembly,Democracy and Re-structuring.
Jhala Nath Khanal is a Nepalese politician who was the 35th Prime Minister of Nepal from February 2011 to August 2011. He was previously the chairman of the Communist Party of Nepal and Leader of the Constituent Assembly Parliamentary Party of the CPN (UML).
