Kristiene Gong (born March 22, 1993) is an American figure skater.

Career

Gong competed internationally for the United States in the 2009-2010 and 2010-2011 cycles. She qualified for the 2011 ISU Junior Grand Prix Final in Beijing, China after finishing in the top 4 at her two previous international competitions in Romania and Great Britain. Gong is currently studying Political Science at Northeastern University in Boston.

The World Figure Skating Championships ("Worlds") is an annual figure skating competition sanctioned by the International Skating Union. Medals are awarded in the categories of men's singles, ladies' singles, pair skating, and ice dance. Generally held in March, the World Championships are considered the most prestigious of the ISU Figure Skating Championships. With the exception of the Olympic title, a world title is considered to be the highest competitive achievement in figure skating.

Frank Carroll (figure skater)

Francis M. Carroll is an American figure skating coach and former competitive skater. He has coached three skaters to win the World Figure Skating Championships: Linda Fratianne, Michelle Kwan, and Evan Lysacek. His pupil, Evan Lysacek won the men's Olympic gold medal in 2010 at Vancouver.

U.S. Figure Skating Championships

The U.S. Figure Skating Championships is a figure skating competition held annually to crown the national champions of the United States. The competition is sanctioned by U.S. Figure Skating. In the U.S. skating community, the event is often referred to informally as "Nationals". Medals are currently awarded in four disciplines: men's (boys') singles, ladies' (girls') singles, pair skating, and ice dancing in four colors: gold (first), silver (second), bronze (third), and pewter (fourth) on two levels, senior and junior. Medals were previously given at the novice, intermediate, and juvenile levels. The event is also used to determine the U.S. teams for the World Championships, World Junior Championships, Four Continents Championships, and Winter Olympics, however, U.S. Figure Skating reserves the right to consider other results.

Stephen Carriere American figure skater

Stephen Carriere is an American former competitive figure skater. He is the 2007 World Junior champion, 2006 JGP Final champion, and 2008 U.S. national bronze medalist. During his career, he has won two Grand Prix medals, one Challenger Series medal, and four other senior international medals.

Caroline Zhang American figure skater

The ISU Junior Grand Prix Final or JGP Final is the culmination of a series of junior-level competitions – the ISU Junior Grand Prix organized by the International Skating Union. Medals are awarded in men's singles, ladies' singles, pair skating, and ice dancing. Skaters earn qualifying points at each Junior Grand Prix event. At the end of the series, the six highest-placing skaters from each discipline advance to the JGP Final.

Artur Gachinski Russian figure skater

Artur Andreyevich Gachinski is a Russian former figure skater. He is the 2011 World bronze medalist, the 2012 European silver medalist, the 2010 World Junior bronze medalist, and a two-time Russian national silver medalist. He announced his retirement from competitive skating in December 2015, citing injuries.

Maia Shibutani American ice dancer

Maia Harumi Shibutani is an American ice dancer. Partnered with her brother Alex Shibutani, she is the 2018 Olympic bronze medalist, a three-time World medalist, the 2016 Four Continents champion, and a two-time U.S. national champion. The siblings have won six titles on the Grand Prix series and stood on the podium at 14 consecutive U.S. Championships, at five levels including eight as seniors. They are two-time members of the US Olympic team, competing at the 2014 and 2018 Winter Olympics. In 2018, the siblings became the first ice dancers who are both of Asian descent to medal at the Olympics. They are the second sibling duo to ever share an ice dancing Olympic medal, and the first from the United States. The Shibutani siblings are often referred to by their nickname the Shib Sibs.

Jeremy Barrett is an American former pair skater. With Caydee Denney, he became the 2010 U.S. national champion and competed at the 2010 Winter Olympics. The 2009–10 ISU Junior Grand Prix was the 13th season of the ISU Junior Grand Prix, a series of international junior level competitions organized by the International Skating Union. The 2011 Canadian Figure Skating Championships were held from January 17 to 23, 2011 in Victoria, British Columbia. The event determines the national champions of Canada and is organized by Skate Canada, the nation's figure skating governing body. The junior-level and senior-level events were held at the Save-On-Foods Memorial Centre. Skaters competed at the senior, junior, and novice levels in the disciplines of men's singles, women's singles, pair skating, and ice dancing. Although the official International Skating Union terminology for female skaters in the singles category is ladies, Skate Canada uses women officially. The results of this competition were used to pick the Canadian teams for the 2011 World Championships, the 2011 Four Continents Championships, and the 2011 World Junior Championships, as well as the Canadian national team.

Grand Slam (figure skating)

The term Grand Slam ("GS") in figure skating is a title sometimes used by figure skating analysts for the achievement of winning all three major annual senior-level international competitions within a single season within one of the four disciplines: men's singles, ladies' singles, pairs, and ice dance. Winning all three major annual senior-level international competitions at any point during the course of a career is called a "Career Grand Slam". In pair skating and ice dancing, one team may accomplish a Career Grand Slam skating together or one skater may achieve it with different partners.
