Kukko is a Finnish beer brand which has been manufactured and owned by Laitilan Wirvoitusjuomatehdas Oy since 2001. Most of the beers are sold both in cans as well as bottles. These beers are set apart from the competition by their environmental aspect: they are all manufactured using wind power. [1] Most of the Kukko beers are also gluten free and as such suitable for Coeliac disease sufferers. [2]

Kukko means rooster in Finnish and a rooster is also the factory emblem. The rooster comes from the coat of arms of Laitila.

In 2003 at Tampere, Kukko Pils was awarded as the best domestic beer as well as the best bottom-fermented beer. [1]

It was founded in 1995 and now the company owns several brands, such as: Kukko beers, OIVA ciders, Kievari beers and Wanhanajan Limonaadi lemonades. The company also produces, for example, the Euro Shopper ciders sold in Finland and the Hurriganes beer, which is named after a famous Finnish rock group. Since 2001, all of the products of Laitilan Wirvoitusjuomatehdas are manufactured using wind power. <span class="mw-page-title-main">Sandels (beer)</span>

Sandels is a Finnish beer brand manufactured by the Olvi brewery since 1973. It is named after the Swedish marshal and war hero of the Finnish War, Johan August Sandels (1764–1831). The cans and bottles of the beer contain anecdotes and sayings from Sandels's life, many of them related to beer. The regular Sandels is a pale lager, but other versions of the beer exist as well, such as a darker beer, and a wheat beer. Sandels was named the top rated beer brand in Finland in a 2015 study.
