Dhaka Medical College and Hospital (DMCH) is a public medical college and hospital located in Dhaka, the capital city of Bangladesh. It houses a medical school as well as a tertiary care hospital on its campus.
Tangail is a district (zila) in the central region of Bangladesh. In 1969, Tangail district was created by Tangail Mohokuma from its 237 square kilometers of land and 3177 square kilometers of land acquired from Mymensingh district. Abdul Kader Siddique is a Bangladeshi politician. He served as a Mukti Bahini member and organizer of the Bangladesh Liberation War. He fought with an estimated 17,000-strong guerrilla force in the Tangail region against the Pakistan Army. The army was called Kaderia Bahini. At the end of the war in 1971, Siddique's forces entered Dhaka along with the Indian forces, signaling the end of the war. He was awarded Bir Uttom by the Government of Bangladesh. Since 1999, he has been serving as the leader of his newly formed party, the Krishak Sramik Janata League.

Bharateswari Homes is a boarding school for girls located in Mirzapur, Tangail District, Bangladesh. The school was established in 1945 by philanthropist Ranadaprasad Saha. He established the institution for the girls education and named it after his grandmother Bharateswari Devi. In 2020, the school was given Independence Day Award, the highest civilian honor of Bangladesh, for its contribution to education.
Government Debendra College is a public college in Manikganj, Manikganj District, Dhaka Division, Bangladesh. It offers bachelor's degrees and master's degrees. It also has a Higher Secondary Certificate (HSC) program. It is affiliated with Bangladesh National University. As of 2015, the principal is Syed Ikbal Moiz and the vice principal is Sirajul Islam.

Pratibha Mutsuddi is a Bangladeshi academic and language activist. She participated in the Bengali Language Movement in 1952. She served as the director and principal of Kumudini Welfare Trust, a welfare foundation founded by Ranadaprasad Saha in 1947. She was awarded Ekushey Padak in 2002 by the Government of Bangladesh for her contribution to education.
Kumudini Welfare Trust is one of the oldest and largest charitable organisations in Bangladesh and is located in Tangail District.
Tangail-7 is a constituency represented in the Jatiya Sangsad of Bangladesh by Khan Ahmed Shuvo. Since 2001 it was represented by Md. Akabbar Hossain of the Awami League.
Tangail District is quite famous for its zamindari rule with three of the largest zamindars in the region believed to have been established during the Mughal period. In addition, several small zamindar classes developed in this area, whose reputation is still evident. One of such zamindar is Mohera Zamindar Bari. Mohera Zamindar Bari is a 19th-century Zamidari residence in Mirzapur, Tangail District, Bangladesh. It is used as a police training school. The zamindar house was established in the mirzapur before the 1890s. Mohera zamindar Bari is the most preserved and maintained zamindari Bari of Bangladesh locally. There is no such zamindari Bari as preserved and maintained as it is in the country. The zamindari Bari represents our culture, lifestyle, and history during British time.
