Kvamskogen (lit. Kvam forest) is a mountain plateau in the Hardanger region of Vestland county, Norway. It is located in the municipalities of Samnanger and Kvam. Traditionally, the term was used only for the parts of the plateau located in Kvam municipality, but today it is used for the entire plateau. Kvamskogen contains several ski resorts, and more than 1700 cabins, the third highest concentration of cabins in the country. [1]

It surrounds the inner part of the Samnangerfjorden and the surrounding valleys. There are mountains that surround the municipality. The development of hydroelectric power plants started here in 1909.

Os is a former municipality in the old Hordaland county, Norway. It was located in the Midhordland region, just south of Norway's second-largest city, Bergen. Due to its proximity to Bergen, Os experienced strong population growth. The administrative centre of Os was the village of Osøyro. It is the largest settlement in the municipality, with over 60% of the municipal residents living here. Other large villages in Os included Hagavik, Halhjem, Søfteland, Søre Øyane, and Søvik. On 1 January 2020, the municipality became part of Bjørnafjorden Municipality in Vestland county.

Kvam is a former municipality in what was Nord-Trøndelag county in Norway. The 377-square-kilometre (146 sq mi) municipality existed from 1909 until its dissolution in 1964. The municipality encompassed the areas north and west of the lake Snåsavatnet in what is now the municipality of Steinkjer in Trøndelag county. The administrative centre was the village of Kvam on the shore of the lake. Most of the population of Kvam municipality lived along the lake shore. Farther north from the lake includes a wilderness area including the large lakes Gilten and Bangsjøene. The main church for the municipality was Kvam Church, located in the village of Kvam.

Steine is a village in the municipality of Kvam in Vestland county, Norway. It is located in the Steinsdalen valley which runs from the Kvamskogen area to the outskirts of the large village of Norheimsund. Norwegian County Road 7 runs through Steine. The Steinsdalsfossen waterfall is a notable tourist attraction in the village.

Strandebarm is a former municipality in the old Hordaland county, Norway. The original municipality was large, spanning both sides of the central part of the Hardangerfjorden. It also included the island of Varaldsøy. Over time, the municipality was divided and by the time of its dissolution in 1965, it was 112 square kilometres (43 sq mi). The municipality included land in the present-day municipalities of Ullensvang, Kvam, and Kvinnherad. The administrative center of the municipality was the village of Bru, where Strandebarm Church is located.

Holmavatnet or Holmevatnet is a lake in the municipality of Kvam in Vestland county, Norway. It is located on the north side of Kvamskogen, about 12 kilometres (7.5 mi) northwest of the municipal centre of Norheimsund. The western end of the lake is dammed for purposes of hydroelectric power generation.

The Bergen Peninsula is a peninsula in Vestland county, Norway. The city of Bergen, Norway's second largest city, is located on the peninsula. The peninsula extends out from the mainland and it is surrounded by the following fjords: Samnangerfjorden, Bjørnafjorden, Fusafjorden, Raunefjorden, Byfjorden, Salhusfjorden, Sørfjorden. Samnanger Church or Ådland Church is a parish church of the Church of Norway in Samnanger Municipality in Vestland county, Norway. It is located in the village of Ådland. It is one of the two churches for the Samnanger parish which is part of the Hardanger og Voss prosti (deanery) in the Diocese of Bjørgvin. The white, wooden church was built in an octagonal design in 1851 using plans drawn up by the architect Andreas Grønning. The church seats about 250 people.

Tørvikbygd is a village in Kvam municipality Hardanger, Vestland, Norway. The village is located on the west side of Hardanger Fjord, around 13 km south of the community center Norheimsund.

County Road 7 is a 92.24-kilometer (57.32 mi) road in Vestland county, Norway. The road runs from Trengereid in the municipality of Bergen to Kollanes in the municipality of Voss.

Hordaland District Court is a district court located in Vestland county, Norway. This court is based at two different courthouses which are located in Bergen and Lofthus. The court serves the Nordhordland, Midthordland, and Hardanger areas of the county which includes cases from 18 municipalities. The court in Bergen accepts cases from the municipalities of Alver, Askøy, Austevoll, Austrheim, Bergen, Bjørnafjorden, Fedje, Masfjorden, Modalen, Osterøy, Samnanger, Vaksdal, Voss, and Øygarden. The court in Lofthus accepts cases from the municipalities of Eidfjord, Kvam, Ullensvang, and Ulvik. The court is subordinate to the Gulating Court of Appeal.
