Kyle Gerdeman (born April 9, 1976) is an American basketball coach who is the current head coach of the Lindenwood Lions men's basketball team. [1] [2] [3]

Coaching career

After graduation from Southeast Missouri State, Gerdeman became an assistant coach at East Central College before making stops at Moberly Area Community College and Mineral Area College from 1998 to 2006. [1] He would return to Moberly Area as the head coach in 2006 where he spent three seasons, with a 41–49 overall record. [4] [5] [6]

Gerdeman would enter the Division I coaching ranks with his alma mater Southeast Missouri State for three seasons before joining Keno Davis at Central Michigan, where he stayed the next seven seasons. [7] [8]

On June 26, 2019, Gerdeman was named the head coach at Lindenwood. [9] He would guide the team through its remaining years in the Great Lakes Valley Conference in Division II before the Lions joined the Division I Ohio Valley Conference in 2022. [10] [11] [12]

Jay Thomas Spoonhour is an American basketball coach. He was the head men's basketball coach at Eastern Illinois University, a position he had held from 2012 until 2021. Previously, Spoonhour served as the head coach at Moberly Area Community College in Missouri. He has also held several assistant jobs, including at Saint Louis, UNLV, Missouri and Texas-San Antonio. He served as the interim head coach of the UNLV Runnin' Rebels in 2004 after his father, Charlie Spoonhour, resigned mid-season.

The Lindenwood Lions men's rugby team represents Lindenwood University in college rugby. Lindenwood plays in Division I-A in the Mid-South conference. The team is coached by Josh Macy. The Lindenwood men's rugby team won the 2012 USA Rugby Division II national championship in its inaugural season, and finished second in Division I-AA for the 2012-13 season. Following the 2012-13 season, Lindenwood moved up to Division I-A for the 2013-14 season. Lindenwood has also had success in Sevens. The Lions won the D1 7s National Championship in 2015 & the Red Bull University 7s Championship.

The Lindenwood Lady Lions ice hockey team represents Lindenwood University located in St. Charles, Missouri. The Lady Lions currently participate in the NCAA Division I competition as a member of College Hockey America (CHA). The team played with no conference affiliation as an Independent program for its first season of NCAA competition. During the 2011–12 season, Lindenwood was accepted into College Hockey America (CHA) beginning in the 2012–2013 season. Prior to 2011 the university was a member of the National Association of Intercollegiate Athletics (NAIA), because the organization does not sponsor women's ice hockey, the program competed in the American Collegiate Hockey Association at the ACHA DI level.

They finished the season 11–21, 6–12 in OVC play to finish in a tie for eighth place. As the No. 8 seed in the OVC tournament, they lost to Southeast Missouri State in the first round.

The 2022–23 Southeast Missouri State Redhawks men's basketball team represented Southeast Missouri State University in the 2022–23 NCAA Division I men's basketball season. The Redhawks, led by third-year head coach Brad Korn, played their home games at the Show Me Center in Cape Girardeau, Missouri as members of the Ohio Valley Conference. They finished the season 19– 17, 10– 8 in OVC play to finish a three-way tie for third place. As No. 5 seed in the OVC tournament, the defeated Lindenwood, Tennessee State, Moorehead State, and Tennessee Tech to win the conference championship. As a result, they received the conference's automatic bid to the NCAA tournament for the second time in school history and first since 2000. As a No. 16 seed in the South region, they lost to Texas A&M–Corpus Christi in the First Four.
