Kynan Chenai (born 29 January 1991, in Hyderabad) is an Indian shooter in the Trap discipline. He won the Asia Olympic Shooting qualifiers held in Delhi on 28 January 2016. [1] He competed in the 2016 Summer Olympics, placing 19 in the Men's Trap Event. [2]
Kynan was born to a reputed Parsi family in Hyderabad, India. His father Darius Chenai is a former national shooting champion in Trap discipline and a businessman. He studied in Hebron School in Ooty, Tamil Nadu with German as elected foreign language. During his school days, he was part of the Field Hockey Team and Football Team, and also the school's freestyle swimming champion for three years.[ citation needed ]
In 2003, he took up shooting and was initially coached by his father. Later he was coached by four-time Olympic champion Mansher Singh. He won the gold medal in Junior Men's Trap shooting event at the 50th and the 51st National Shooting Championship in India. He also won a gold medal in the Trap event in the 2008 Commonwealth Youth Games. [3]
Kynan achieved an Olympic quota for the 2016 Summer Olympics after finishing fourth in the Asia Olympic Shooting qualifiers in Delhi on 28 January 2016, where he finished 19th in the men's trap qualification round. [4] [5]
The men's trap competition at the 2004 Summer Olympics was held on August 14 and 15 at the Markópoulo Olympic Shooting Centre near Athens, Greece. There were 35 competitors from 26 nations, with each nation having up to two shooters.

He is a 4 time Olympian, having represented India at the Athens 2004 Summer Olympics, Beijing 2008 Summer Olympics the London 2012 Summer Olympics and the Rio 2016 Summer Olympics. He is former World No. 1 ranked Trap Shooter.
The men's trap event at the 2008 Summer Olympics took place on August 9 and 10 at the Beijing Shooting Range Clay Target Field. There were 35 competitors from 25 nations, with each nation having up to two shooters. The Czech Republic won its second shooting gold in two days through David Kostelecký, shooting a perfect 25 in the final round and establishing an Olympic record of 146 hits total after a 2005 rule change. It was the Czech Republic's first medal in the men's trap. Giovanni Pellielo of Italy repeated as the silver medalist; in addition to his 2000 bronze, this made Pellielo the first man to earn at least three medals in the event; he would go on to win a fourth in 2016. Defending Olympic champion Aleksei Alipov of Russia took bronze this year, making him the fifth man to earn two medals in the trap.
India competed at the 2012 Summer Olympics in London, from 27 July to 12 August 2012. A total of 83 athletes, 60 men and 23 women, competed in 13 sports. Al Kaabi Won Gold Medal (Individuals) in Pan Arab Shooting Championship, Morocco 2015. Al Kaabi who is seeded 7th in the Olympic Ranking, won gold medal of Cyprus Grand Prix in Shogun 2017.
