L. Raja is an Indian director and actor who works in predominantly Tamil language films and television series.

Career

Raja began his career as an assistant to director Rajasekhar. [1] He debuted as a director with Shankar Guru in 1987, which was produced by AVM Productions. [2] He worked as a director in nine films, six of which starred Arjun. [1] [2] After a sabbatical of around 30 years, a director approached Raja and asked him to act in the feature film Muniyandi Vilangial Moonramandu in 2008, which marked his acting debut. [1] He has since acted in 35 films including Naadodigal , where he played Sasikumar's father. [1]

He debuted in television with Raghuvamsam which received positive reviews. He has since acted in several television series and directed two series: Idhi Kadha Kaadhu and Ninne Pelladutha for Radaan Mediaworks. [1] He also directed Himsaveda, a silent dance drama for AVM Productions. [2]

Personal life

Raja is married to actress Easwari Rao. [3] The couple has 2 children. [3]

The film was shot simultaneously in Telugu as Chinnari Devatha with Raja Naidu as director. It stars Arjun, Seetha, Rajani and Baby Shalini. The film was released on 19 March 1987, and was commercially successful in both languages.

S. Shivaram, popularly known simply as Shivaram or Shivaramanna, was an Indian actor, producer and director whose Kannada cinema career has spanned six decades. He has played roles including lead hero performances, character roles, comedic roles, as well as supporting parts. He teamed up with his elder brother, S. Ramanathan and produced several films under the name Rashi Brothers apart from directing Hrudaya Sangama in 1972. They together produced movies directed by Puttanna Kanagal like Gejje Pooje and Upasane. They also produced Dr. Rajkumar 's 175th movie Nanobba Kalla and the Tamil movie Dharma Durai starring Rajinikanth which was a remake of the 1989 Kannada movie Deva. The brothers together produced few Bollywood films as well including the 1985 movie Geraftaar which is known to be the only Indian movie to star three stalwarts - Amitabh Bachchan, Kamal Haasan and Rajinikanth - in a single movie. As an actor, Shivaram has the distinction of working with many stalwart directors out of which his association with Puttanna Kanagal is much remembered. He has acted in all the seven Kannada movies directed by Singeetam Srinivasa Rao starring Rajkumar.

V. C. Guhanathan is a film screenwriter, director and producer who has worked on Indian Tamil films. He made his directorial debut in the 1970s, before proceeding to make successful films like Thanikattu Raja (1982) and Michael Raj (1987).

<i>Kaakum Karangal</i> 1965 film by A. C. Tirulokchandar

Kaakum Karangal is a 1965 Indian Tamil-language drama film, directed by A. C. Tirulokchandar. Inspired by British writer W. Somerset Maugham's 1925 novel The Painted Veil, it was produced by Murugan Brothers, a subsidiary of AVM Productions. The film stars S. S. Rajendran and C. R. Vijayakumari, with Nagesh, L. Vijayalakshmi, S. V. Subbaiah, Sivakumar and Revathi playing supporting roles. It was released on 19 June 1965, and failed at the box office.

Narayanan, better known by his stage name Sivachandran, is an Indian actor, director, and writer who was active in Tamil cinema mostly in the 1980s.
