Tejano music, also known as Tex-Mex music, is a popular music style fusing Mexican and US influences. Typically, Tejano combines Mexican Spanish vocal styles with dance rhythms from Czech and German genres – particularly polka or waltz. Tejano music is traditionally played by small groups featuring accordion and guitar or bajo sexto. Its evolution began in northern Mexico.
Intocable is an American band from Zapata, Texas that plays regional Mexican music; specializing in norteño and tejano music. It was started by friends Ricardo Javier Muñoz and René Orlando Martínez in the early 1990s. In a few years, Intocable fused the genres Tejano and Norteño with a musical signature that fused Tejano's robust conjunto and Norteño folk rhythms with a pop balladry. Intocable is perhaps the most influential group in Tejano and their tough Tejano/Norteño fusion has become the blueprint for several Tejano bands. The group's style combines romantic, hooky melodies, tight instrumentation and vocal harmony.
Grupo Bryndis is a Mexican grupero band from Cerritos, San Luis Potosí, - though founded in Santa Paula, California, in 1983 by Mauro Posadas, the band is a Latin Grammy Award winner. The band has performed ballads, cumbias, rancheras, and huapangos.
Los Kumbia All Starz are an American musical group from Corpus Christi, Texas, created by A.B. Quintanilla. Kumbia All Starz are not to be confused with Los Kumbia Kings although some members are originally from Los Kumbia Kings. Their 2006 debut album Ayer Fue Kumbia Kings, Hoy Es Kumbia All Starz reached number one on United States Billboard's Latin Pop Albums chart, number one on the Top Latin Albums chart, and number sixty-eight on the United States Billboard 200. The album spawned two charting singles, "Chiquilla" and "Parece Que Va a Llover" single sung by Ricky Rick.
La Sombra de Chicago or La Sombra de Tony Guerrero or even the Windy City Boys is a Tejano band founded by Tony Guerrero. Originally from the Chicago suburb of Aurora, Illinois, the group gained national acclaim and success after moving to Corpus Christi, Texas, the headquarters of their label, Freddie Records.
Mazz is a Tejano band originally from Brownsville, Texas. The band was known for their idiosyncratic and innovative form of Tejano cumbia which made them distinguishable among their counterparts. Mazz became one of the most popular Tejano music bands during the genre's 1990s golden age. Mazz won the Latin Grammy Award for Best Tejano Album in 2001, 2002, 2003, 2004, and in 2009, the most wins for a Tejano musician. They landed their first major recording contract with EMI Latin in the early 1990s, before switching to Freddie Records in 1999. Joe Lopez and Jimmy Gonzalez formed Mazz in 1978 before disbanding and creating smaller bands throughout their careers. Gonzalez was known for blending a variety of genres into his basic Tejano sound, a formula he continued to use up until his final release, Porque Todavía te Quiero (2018). Gonzalez was pronounced dead in San Antonio, Texas on June 6, 2018, after suffering from low blood sugar as a result of his diabetes.

Un Millón de Rosas earned them the Grammy Award for Best Mexican/Mexican-American Album at the 39th Grammy Awards. At the 9th Lo Nuestro Awards, it received a nomination for Regional Mexican Album of the Year.
20 Años de Éxitos En Vivo con Moderatto is the third live album by Mexican recording artist Alejandra Guzmán. It was released by EMI Latin on June 21, 2011, and features the participation of Moderatto as her backing band. Jay de la Cueva worked as producer of the album, which was recorded at the Palacio de los Deportes in Mexico City on March 17, 2011. The album includes Guzmán's greatest hits, a song originally performed by Moderatto, and two newly recorded songs, including the theme song of the Mexican telenovela Una familia con suerte.

Las 3 Divas is a commercial collaboration between female Tejano stars Elida Reyna, Shelly Lares, and Stefani Montiel. This album earned rave reviews, plenty of radio airtime and critical acclaim even winning "Show Band of The Year". This album spawned the hit "La Cumbia Del Oeste". This album is the only time these three performers have collaborated because each has successful solo careers. It was nominated for a Grammy Award for Best Mexican/Mexican-American Album.
Estas Tocando Fuego is the sixteenth studio album by La Mafia. It was released on October 19, 1991. The album entered the Billboard Latin Regional Mexican chart at number sixteen. By March 21, 1992, it reached the number one position and stayed in that position for twenty-three weeks. Estas Tocando Fuego became a phenomenal hit surpassing sales expectations every where. The record went on to become the first ever million selling album in the history of tejano music. The band's outstanding performance prompted Sony to present them with the prestigious Premio Cristal, created by the label to honor artist who attain worldwide sales in excess of 500,000 units for a single album. The album was certified triple platinum, and La Mafia earned Billboard and Premio Lo Nuestro band of the year. The album tied with Selena's Entre a Mi Mundo for best regional Mexican album of the year at Premio Lo Nuestro 1993.
Oscar De La Rosa is the Tejano lead singer of the five-time Grammy Award-winning musical group La Mafia. He is also the brother of Leonardo Gonzales who is the former guitarist of La Mafia and founder of Leonardo Gonzales y Los Magnificos.
