Juan Carlos I is a member of the Spanish royal family who reigned as King of Spain from 22 November 1975 until his abdication on 19 June 2014. In Spain, since his abdication, Juan Carlos has usually been referred to as the rey emérito by the press.

Resistencia is the capital and largest city of the province of Chaco in north-eastern Argentina. According to the 2010 census, the population of the city proper was 291,720 inhabitants. It is the anchor of a larger metropolitan area, Greater Resistencia, which comprises at least three more municipalities for a total population of 387,340 as of 2010. This conurbation is the largest in the province, and the eleventh most populous in the country. It is located along the Negro River, a tributary of the much larger Paraná River, opposite the city of Corrientes, Corrientes Province.
Southern Winds Airlines was an Argentine commercial air carrier that operated from 1996 until 2005. Southern Winds was founded by Juan Maggio, who served as president of the company.
The Margarita Belén Massacre took place during the Dirty War in Argentina. It involved the torture and execution of 22 Montoneros, some of whom were killed after surrendering and laying down their weapons near the town of Margarita Belén, Chaco Province, on 13 December 1976, in a joint operation of the Argentine Army and the Chaco Provincial Police. One of the victims of the massacre, Néstor Carlos Salas, is reported to have been a Montoneros commander and took part in a number of guerrilla operations. Argentina was at the time ruled by the National Reorganization Process.
The Roman Catholic Metropolitan Archdiocese of La Plata is in Argentina and is a metropolitan diocese and its suffragan sees are Azul, Chascomús, and Mar del Plata. It was elevated on 20 April 1934.

The Argentine Marxist–Leninist Communist Party was a communist party in Argentina. PCMLA was founded in 1975 as splinter group of the Marxist–Leninist Communist Party. It had a pro-China orientation. Leaders of PCMLA included Oscar Ríos, José Ríos, Daniel Egea, Carlos Herrera, and Ramón Ruiz. The party was active in the student movement. Its student wing was Grupos de Resistencia Estudiantil. It had cells in Buenos Aires city and province, Corrientes, Entre Ríos and Santa Fe. The party had a front organization in the meat industry, Resistencia Obrera de la Carne.
Zacarías Supisiche (1843–1897) was an Argentine military man, who participated in the Argentine Civil War and Paraguayan War. He began his military career fighting against troops of General Justo José de Urquiza, taking an active part during the battles of Cepeda and Pavón.
Juan Carlos Bacileff Ivanoff is an Argentine politician who served as interim governor of Chaco Province from 2013 to 2015. He was vice governor of Chaco from 2007 to 2015, serving under Jorge Capitanich; upon Capitanich's appointment as Cabinet Chief of Argentina in November 2013, Bacileff Ivanoff stepped in as governor in interim position until Capitanich's dismissal in February 2015.
Elda Aída Pértile is an Argentine politician. Pértile has been active in politics since the 1980s; as a member of the local Acción Chaqueña party, she was elected intendenta (mayor) of Resistencia, Chaco in 1991, serving until 1995. She was also a member of the Resistencia City Council, and served in the Chamber of Deputies of Chaco during two consecutive terms from 2009 to 2017. From 2017 to 2021, she served as a National Deputy.
