Labská Stráň (German : Elbleiten) is a village and municipality ( obec ) in Děčín District in the Ústí nad Labem Region of the Czech Republic. It is located on the Elbe River. Belvedér viewing point is within village's cadastrial area.
German is a West Germanic language that is mainly spoken in Central Europe. It is the most widely spoken and official or co-official language in Germany, Austria, Switzerland, South Tyrol (Italy), the German-speaking Community of Belgium, and Liechtenstein. It is also one of the three official languages of Luxembourg and a co-official language in the Opole Voivodeship in Poland. The languages which are most similar to German are the other members of the West Germanic language branch: Afrikaans, Dutch, English, the Frisian languages, Low German/Low Saxon, Luxembourgish, and Yiddish. There are also strong similarities in vocabulary with Danish, Norwegian and Swedish, although those belong to the North Germanic group. An obec can have its own flag and coat of arms and is composed of one or more cadastral areas. An obec can have several settlements or parts whether villages or hamlets.
Děčín District is one of seven districts (okres) located within the Ústí nad Labem Region in the Czech Republic. Its capital is the city of Děčín.
The municipality covers an area of 2.88 square kilometres (1.11 sq mi), and has a population of 203 (as at 28 August 2006).
Labská Stráň lies approximately 10 kilometres (6 mi) north of Děčín, 26 km (16 mi) north-east of Ústí nad Labem, and 86 km (53 mi) north of Prague.
Ústí nad Labem, formerly known by its German name Aussig, is the 7th-most populous city of the Czech Republic. It is the capital of its eponymous region and district.
