Lacy Michele Dagen (born May 17, 1997 in Concord, California) is an American collegiate gymnastics coach and former artistic gymnast. She competed for the Florida Gators [1] and for the Oregon State Beavers. [2]

Early life

On May 17, 1997, Dagen was born as Lacy Michele Dagen in Concord, California. Dagen's father is Shawn Dagen, the president of FreshSource North [3] and her mother is Paige Dagen, an English teacher at Foothill High School. [4] She has one younger sister, Madison (b. December 27, 1999), who is also a gymnast. [5]

In 2001, Dagen began gymnastics classes at Cal West Gymnastics, after continuously doing cartwheels. The club changed owners and became Bay Aerials Gymnastics, where Dagen trained and competed until 2006 when she moved to Pacific West Gymnastics. In 2008, she became the Level 8 Regional champion. [6] A year later, in 2009, Dagen placed tenth in the all-around at the 2009 Westerns. [7] Lacy remained a level nine gymnast for the 2010 season; winning the Western Championship. [8]

Gymnastics career

2011—12: Level 10 career

In 2011, Lacy moved up to Level 10 for the 2011 season. She participated in a few invitationals but had to retire for the season, due to injury. Following the 2011 season, she moved to San Mateo Gymnastics. A year later, in 2012, Dagen competed as a level ten again. She was third at States [9] and seventeenth at Regionals. [10]

2012—13: Elite career

In February 2012, Dagen participated at the WOGA Elite Qualifier; qualifying elite status. [11] In May, Lacy was tenth in the all-around at the American Classic at the Karolyi Ranch. [12] At the 2012 U.S. Classic, Dagen was fourteenth in the all-around. [13] Later, in St Louis, Missouri, she competed at U.S. Nationals where she placed sixteenth in the all-around. [14]

On January 7, 2013, it was announced that she had committed to the Florida Gators gymnastics program. [15] In 2013, Dagen advanced to Senior International Elite status, due to her turning sixteen. In July, she was fifth at the American Classic. [16] She was scheduled to participate in the 2013 Secret U.S. Classic but didn't attend due to injury. [17]

2014—15: Level 10 career

After deciding to transition from Elite to Level 10, Dagen was State and Regional Champion. [18] [19] At J.O. Nationals, she was third in the all-around and was the beam champion. [20] On November 13, 2014, she signed the National Letter of Intent to the Florida Gators. [21] Dagen competed at three invitationals throughout the 2015 season but was nursing a minor injury throughout the Championship season.

MyKayla Brooke Skinner Harmer is an American former artistic gymnast. She was the 2020 Olympic vault silver medalist, competing as an individual, and was an alternate for the 2016 Olympic team. Skinner competed at the 2014 World Championships, where she contributed to the U.S. team's gold medal, also winning an individual bronze medal on vault. She won 11 total medals at the USA National Championships during her senior career. She also competed for the University of Utah's gymnastics team and was a two-time NCAA champion while also setting Pac-12 records for conference honors.

Amelia Magdalena Hundley is a former American artistic gymnast. She won a gold, silver, and bronze medal at the 2015 Pan American Games in Toronto, Ontario, Canada. She also won team gold medals competing for the United States at the 2012 Pacific Rim Gymnastics Championships and the City of Jesolo Trophy.

Kennedy Baker is a retired American collegiate and artistic gymnast. She competed as an elite gymnast from 2009 through 2013 and has since retired. She had competed in collegiate gymnastics for the Florida Gators.

Artistic gymnastics is a type of gymnastics in which athletes compete with short routines on various equipment, including bars, beams, rings, pommel horses, vaulting tables, and on a sprung floor. Gymnastics is well-established in the United States, where available programs range from recreational classes, casual summer camps, and children's leagues; to highly competitive collegiate leagues and four national teams. Although this is not unique to the United States, due to the physically demanding nature of the sport there are fewer options for adult gymnastics outside the elite level, although local parks and recreation departments often have limited offerings.

Jordan Skylar Bowers is an American artistic gymnast and was part of the United States women's national gymnastics team. She won the junior all-around gold medals at the 2018 Pacific Rim Championships and the 2018 Junior Pan American Championships. She is currently competing for the Oklahoma Sooners in NCAA gymnastics.
