The lord mayor of London is the mayor of the City of London and the leader of the City of London Corporation. Within the City, the lord mayor is accorded precedence over all individuals except the sovereign and retains various traditional powers, rights, and privileges, including the title and style The Right Honourable Lord Mayor of London.
Mary, Princess Royal and Countess of Harewood, was a member of the British royal family. She was the only daughter of King George V and Queen Mary, and the aunt of the current British monarch, Queen Elizabeth II. Leeds City Council is the local authority of the City of Leeds in West Yorkshire, England. It is a metropolitan district council, one of five in West Yorkshire and one of 36 in the metropolitan counties of England, and provides the majority of local government services in Leeds. It has the second-largest population of any council in the United Kingdom with approximately 800,000 inhabitants living within its area; only Birmingham City Council has more. Since 1 April 2014, it has been a constituent council of the West Yorkshire Combined Authority.

William Charles Roy "Roy" Harvey, more commonly known as Roy Harvey, was Lord Mayor of Brisbane, Queensland, Australia from 1982 until 1985. A member of the Labor Party, he spent a total of 27 years on the Council.

The head of Belfast City Council has been styled Lord Mayor of Belfast since 1892.
The Martineau family is an intellectual, business and political dynasty associated first with Norwich and later also London and Birmingham, England. The family were prominent Unitarians; a room in London's Essex Hall, the headquarters building of the British Unitarians, was named after them. Martineau Place in the city's Central Business District was named in their honour.

Frances Elizabeth Lupton was an Englishwoman of the Victorian era who worked to open up educational opportunities for women. She married into the politically active Lupton family of Leeds, where she co-founded Leeds Girls' High School in 1876 and was the Leeds representative of the North of England Council for Promoting the Higher Education of Women.
Bernard Peter Atha is a former Lord Mayor of Leeds and a major figure in the arts and sport in West Yorkshire and elsewhere; he has also appeared in a number of films.
Jessie Beatrice Kitson (1876–1965) was the first woman to be Lord Mayor of Leeds, West Riding of Yorkshire, England. She was Lord Mayor from 1942 to 1943.
Kathleen Chambers was a pioneer female politician who was the first woman to be Lord Mayor of Bradford holding that position in 1945–1946.
Michael Francis Middleton is an English businessman. He is the father of Catherine, Duchess of Cambridge, Philippa Matthews and James Middleton.
