Lake Morton is a lake located in King County, Washington, in the Lake Morton-Berrydale census-designated place.

Description

Lake Morton allows fishing, and is stocked with rainbow trout annually by the Washington Department of Fish and Wildlife. Largemouth bass are also naturally present in the lake. There is a public boat ramp and fishing area on the northwest shore of the lake, but the lake is mostly surrounded by private property. [1] Lake Morton is encircled by Lake Morton Drive. [2]

King County has measured water quality in Morton Lake since 1996 (except for a gap between 2008 and 2014). Measurements indicate generally high water quality, at borderline oligotrophic-mesotrophic levels. [3]

Plane crash

On November 11, 2019, a small, single-engine plane crashed into Lake Morton. [4] The pilot was rescued by kayakers, and taken to a hospital. [5]

McGee Creek State Park is a state park in southern Oklahoma. The park is on the south side of McGee Creek Reservoir, which impounds the waters of McGee Creek. Created in 1985 the reservoir provides flood control. The park is approximately 2,600 acres (1,100 ha) and the reservoir is approximately 3,800 acres (1,500 ha). Its main staple is recreational and sport fishing. The main fish fished for in this park include Crappie, Sunfish, Largemouth bass, and Channel catfish. The McGee Creek Wildlife Management area is located between the two arms of the reservoir.

Lake Desire, also called Echo Lake, is an unimproved watershed 5 miles (8.0 km) southeast of Renton, Washington in the United States. It is a small part of the Maple Heights-Lake Desire, Washington area, 45 minutes east of downtown Seattle. According to King County, it has productive water quality, a maximum depth of 21 feet (6.4 m) and a surface area of approximately 80 acres. A public boat launch and fishing dock is located to the north of the lake but does require a vehicle use permit from the Washington Department of Fish and Wildlife. On the southeast border of the lake, a 382-acre (1.55 km2) forested park and wetland area has been allocated by the Washington Wildlife and Recreation Program (WWRP).

American Lake is a lake located in Lakewood, Washington at Joint Base Lewis-McChord. It is the largest natural lake in Pierce County. There are two public parks on the large lake: American Lake North Park & Marina, and Harry Todd Park. Both have lakeside beaches for swimming, fishing, or picnicking. The first also features a boat launching area; the latter has tennis courts. Fishing is a popular activity at American Lake, with cutthroat trout, largemouth bass, rainbow trout, rock bass, smallmouth bass, Sockeye salmon (kokanee) and yellow perch the most sought-after game fish. The Washington State Department of Fish and Wildlife regularly monitors the health of the fishery and stocks favored species regularly.

The park encompasses 550 acres of fields, forest and open spaces, features over 15 miles of hiking trails, a 300-acre lake and many sports and recreational facilities. Prior to being a park, this land was a private farm.

Paradise Lake is a small freshwater lake in the north of King County, Washington, USA, located two miles east of Woodinville. The lake has no public access boat launch. It feeds into Bear Creek, which flows towards the Sammamish River at Redmond.

Lake Nahwatzel is a body of freshwater located in Mason County in the U.S. state of Washington. The lake is fed by three main sources, which include two unnamed creeks and naturally occurring hot springs. The lake empties into the East Fork of the Satsop River via Outlet Creek. Lake Nahwatzel is one of the warmest lakes in western Washington due to the presence of the aforementioned hot springs. Nearby towns include Shelton and Matlock.

Penn State Forest is a 3,366-acre (5.259 sq mi) state park in Burlington County, New Jersey, United States. The forest is protected as a section of the environmentally sensitive Pine Barrens. Various recreational resources are available to visitors including Oswego Lake and the Oswego River for boating and fishing. The lake has a picnic area with a boat launch and primitive restrooms. Miles of unpaved roads composed of gravel, dirt, and sand traverse all areas of the forest. The roads are open for hiking, mountain biking, horseback riding, and cross-country skiing, as well as four-wheel driving. Hunting for deer, wild turkey, water fowl, and small game is permitted in season. A section of the Pine Barren Plains, a globally rare dwarf forest ecosystem that reaches a mature canopy height of about 4 ft (1.2 m), is located in the northeastern portion of the park. Penn State Forest is operated and maintained by the New Jersey Division of Parks and Forestry.
