Lakshmi Parvathi (born 14 September 1955) is an Andhra politician and widow of N. T. Rama Rao. She was previously married to a harikatha artist Veeragandham Venkata Subba Rao. [1] [2] [3] Later, she was separated from him and started living together with Rama Rao who officially married her in 1993. [4]
Lakshmi Parvathi completed her education in Telugu Literature from Telugu University of Telangana in the year 2000.[ citation needed ]
She has been active in politics after marrying NTR. After the death of N. T. Rama Rao, she founded NTR Telugu Desam Party in 1995 by elections. Lakshmi Parvathi won as MLA from Pathapatnam (Assembly constituency) on behalf of NTRTDP with the support of Bharatiya Janata Party. [5] 42 constituencies candidates were launched by NTR (TDP) in 1996. Even after winning 3,249,267 votes in the elections the party did not win a single seat. She later joined Indian National Congress party. Currently, she is a member of YSR Congress Party. [6]
She contested from Sompeta Assembly constituency and Eluru Assembly constituency constituencies for the elections to the Andhra Pradesh assembly in 1999 Andhra Pradesh Legislative Assembly election. She lost both the seats. She polled a mere 1,500 votes in Eluru. [7]
Parvathi has been the incumbent chair of Telugu and Sanskrit Academy since her appointment on 6 November 2019. [8] She made her acting debut in the 2021 film Radhakrishna, which was about the traditional handicraft of Koyya dolls (Koyya Bommalu). [9] [10]
Nandamuri Taraka Rama Rao, often referred to by his initials NTR, was an Indian actor, film director, film producer, screenwriter, film editor, philanthropist and politician who served as a former Chief Minister of Andhra Pradesh for seven years over three terms. He is regarded as one of the most influential actors of Indian cinema. He starred in over 300 films, predominantly in Telugu cinema, and was referred to as "Viswa Vikhyatha Nata Sarvabhouma". In 1968, The Government of India honoured him with Padma Shri, the fourth-highest civilian award, for his contributions to Indian cinema. In 2013, Rao was voted as "Greatest Indian Actor of All Time" in a CNN-IBN national poll conducted on the occasion of the Centenary of Indian Cinema.
Nara Chandrababu Naidu, commonly known as CBN, is an Indian politician who is currently serving as the 13th Chief Minister of Andhra Pradesh. He holds the record of longest-serving Chief Minister in the political history of Telugu states. He is the national president of the Telugu Desam Party (TDP).

The 1996 Indian general election in Andhra Pradesh were held for 42 seats in the state. The result was a victory for the Indian National Congress which won 22 out of 42 seats. This was the first election contested by the TDP since its leader Chandrababu Naidu ousted the party founder N. T. Rama Rao in a palace coup in August 1995 and the latter's untimely death a few months later.

It was directed by Krish Jagarlamudi and produced by Nandamuri Balakrishna, Sai Korrapati, Vishnu Vardhan Induri under NBK Films, Vaaraahi Chalana Chitram, Vibri Media banners. It is the first installation of a two-part film. The film stars an ensemble cast with Nandamuri Balakrishna, as his father N. T. Rama Rao, Vidya Balan in lead roles. Music is composed by M. M. Keeravani. The film has a sequel, NTR: Mahanayakudu, that showcases the political journey of Rama Rao.

Gunda Lakshmi Devi is an Indian politician from the state of Andhra Pradesh. She is a former member of Andhra Pradesh Legislative Assembly representing Srikakulam Assembly constituency from 2014 to 2019. She was denied a ticket from TDP to contest the 2024 Assembly Election. Following the decision of the Party, her followers burnt the flags and literature of TDP. She said she would contest as an independent candidate.

She won the 2014 Andhra Pradesh Legislative Assembly Election from Kakinada Rural Assembly Constituency in East Godavari District. She lost the 2019 Andhra Pradesh Legislative Assembly Election.
