Lalit Vijay Kolhe is an Indian politician,who is currently serving as the Mayor of Jalgaon. [1] [3] He is affiliated with Bharatiya Janata Party since July 2018. [4] [5] He was formerly associated with Maharashtra Navnirman Sena. [6] [7]
He was elected as the Mayor of Jalgaon in September 2017,succeeded by Nitin Ladda. [1] Before his appointment to Mayor of Jalgaon Municipal Corporation,he was serving as the Jalgaon's deputy mayor,with support of MNS and Khandesh Vikas Aghadi,a party led by former Maharashtra Minister Suresh Jain. [8]
He unsuccessfully contested the 2009 and 2014 legislative assembly election from Jangaon (Assembly constituency) on the ticket of MNS. [9] [10]
Kolhe served as a corporator to the Jalgaon Municipal Corporation for Ward No.17-B from 1996 to 2016. [11]
He also served as the Nagpur district president of Maharashtra Navnirman Sena [2] and he resigned from his post in November 2014. [12]

Shiv Sena,is a right-wing Marathi regionalist and ultranationalist political party in India founded in 1966 by cartoonist Bal Thackeray. Originally emerging from nativist movements in Bombay,the party agitates for preferential treatment for Maharashtrians over migrants from other parts of India. Its election symbol for Maharashtra is Bow and Arrow. Uddhav Thackeray,Bal Thackeray's son,is party leader and serves as the current Chief Minister of Maharashtra.

Lalu demanded a ban on the MNS,and described its chief Raj Thackeray as a "mental case".
