Lalduhoma is an Indian politician and a former Indian Police Service officer who is serving as the 6th Chief Minister of Mizoram since 8 December 2023. Resigning from the security service to the Prime Minister Indira Gandhi,he was elected as Member of Parliament to the Lok Sabha from Mizoram in 1984. He left the Indian National Congress,the party from which he was elected,for which he was disqualified from the parliament. He became the first MP to be discharged upon anti-defection law in India.

He is a former member of the Mizo National Front (MNF) and served as the member of the Mizoram Legislative Assembly for Saiha before resigning to join the BJP. He is former Minister of state in Government of Mizoram as Minister for Social Welfare,Excise &Narcotics &Sericulture department. He resigned as MLA and later joined the BJP after getting expelled from the MNF for anti-party activities.
The legislative assembly election was held on 28 November 2018 to elect members of the 40 constituencies in Mizoram. Mizo National Front won 26 seats in the election. This was the first time that Congress does not have any government in any of the states in Northeast India.
Elections to the Madhya Pradesh Legislative Assembly were held on 28 November 2018 to elect members of the 230 constituencies in Madhya Pradesh. It is believed that the election was a direct political battle between the BJP and the INC. One of the main centers of attraction was the contest between Congress heavy-weight Arun Yadav and the then Chief Minister Shivraj Singh Chouhan. While the Shivraj Singh Chouhan government had tried to win for consecutive 4th term,the INC fought for winning the state after 2003. The election led to a hung assembly,with the INC emerging as the single largest party and the BJP winning the popular vote.
Elections to the Mizoram Legislative Assembly were held in April 1979 to elect members of the 30 constituencies in Mizoram,India. The Mizoram People's Conference emerged as the single largest party and T. Sailo was appointed as the Chief Minister of Mizoram for the second time.
The Fifteenth Legislative Assembly of Madhya Pradesh constituted after the 2018 Madhya Pradesh Legislative Assembly elections which were concluded on November 2018,with the results being declared on 11 December 2018. The tenure of 14th Madhya Pradesh Assembly ended on 5 January 2019.
