Singanalluru Puttaswamaiah Muthuraj, better known by his stage name Dr. Rajkumar, was an Indian actor and singer who worked in Kannada cinema. K. S. Sowmya, better known by her stage name Soundarya, was an Indian actress who worked predominantly in Telugu films in addition to Kannada, Malayalam, Tamil and Odia. In 2002, she received the National Film Award for Best Feature Film as producer for the Kannada film Dweepa. She has also received three Nandi Awards, two Karnataka State Film Awards for Best Actress and several Filmfare Awards South for her performances in films such as Ammoru (1994), Pavitra Bandham (1996), Anthahpuram (1998), Raja (1999), Doni Saagali (1998), Dweepa (2002), and Apthamitra (2004). She was one of the highest-paid actresses in Telugu cinema and acted in more than 100 films in a span of 12 years. Soundarya was popularly referred as "Savitri of modern Telugu cinema".
Girish Karnad was an Indian actor, film director, Kannada writer, playwright and a Jnanpith awardee, who predominantly worked in South Indian cinema and Bollywood. Nagesh (born Cheyur Krishnarao Nageshwaran; was an Indian actor, mostly remembered for his roles as a comedian in Tamil films during the 1960s. Nagesh was born in Dharapuram. He acted in over 1,000 films from 1958 to 2008, performing in a variety of roles as comedian, lead roles, supporting actor and antagonist. He has also acted in Telugu, Malayalam, Hindi and Kannada films. Nagesh's style of comedy was largely inspired by Hollywood actor Jerry Lewis. Similarities between Nagesh and Lewis earned Nagesh the sobriquet the "Jerry Lewis of India". He was also nicknamed as the King of Comedy due to his impeccable comedy timing and body language.
