Larry S. Davis (born 1949) is an American computer scientist and professor emeritus at the University of Maryland, College Park. He currently works as a Senior Principal Scientist at Amazon. Davis is best known for his research in the field of computer vision. [1]
Davis received his Bachelor of Arts degree from Colgate University in 1970. He received his MS and PhD from the University of Maryland in 1974 and 1976, respectively.
From 1977 to 1981, he was an assistant professor in the Department of Computer Science at the University of Texas, Austin. He then took a position as a professor at the University of Maryland in 1981. From 1985 to 1994, he was the director of the University of Maryland Institute for Advanced Computer Studies. He served as chair of the Department of Computer Science from 1999 to 2012 and was director of the Center for Automation Research (CfAR). [2]

Davis is a fellow of the International Association for Pattern Recognition (IAPR), [3] the Institute of Electrical and Electronics Engineers (IEEE) and the Association for Computing Machinery (ACM). His research has been cited nearly 61,000 times. [4]
David A. Bader is a Distinguished Professor and Director of the Institute for Data Science at the New Jersey Institute of Technology. Previously, he served as the Chair of the Georgia Institute of Technology School of Computational Science & Engineering, where he was also a founding professor, and the executive director of High-Performance Computing at the Georgia Tech College of Computing. Dr. Satyandra K. Gupta is a researcher and educator working in the field of automation and robotics. He started his career as a Research Scientist in the Robotics Institute at Carnegie Mellon University in 1995. He moved to the University of Maryland, College Park in 1998 as an Assistant Professor of Mechanical Engineering. He was appointed as the founding director of the Maryland Robotics Center in 2010. Lise Getoor is a professor in the computer science department, at the University of California, Santa Cruz, and an adjunct professor in the Computer Science Department at the University of Maryland, College Park. Her primary research interests are in machine learning and reasoning with uncertainty, applied to graphs and structured data. She also works in data integration, social network analysis and visual analytics. She has edited a book on Statistical relational learning that is a main reference in this domain. She has published many highly cited papers in academic journals and conference proceedings. She has also served as action editor for the Machine Learning Journal, JAIR associate editor, and TKDD associate editor.
Jonathan Katz is a professor in the Department of Computer Science at the University of Maryland who conducts research on cryptography and cybersecurity.
