Laura Jane Silverman (born June 10, 1966) is an American actress and the older sister of actress and comedian Sarah Silverman. [1] [2] [3] [4] She acted in Sarah Silverman: Jesus Is Magic and The Sarah Silverman Program portraying a fictionalized version of herself. She also stars as Jane Benson on The Comeback with Lisa Kudrow and voiced Laura, the sarcastic receptionist on the animated comedy television series Dr. Katz, Professional Therapist . Her dramatic roles include guest appearances in House and Nurse Jackie .
Silverman was born to Beth Ann O'Hara [5] [6] and Donald Silverman. Her parents divorced and each remarried (to John O'Hara and Janice, respectively). [7] She has three sisters: screenwriter Jodyne Silverman, comedian Sarah Silverman, and Rabbi Susan Silverman. [7] [8] Her brother Jeffrey Michael died when he was 3 months old. [9] Their family is Jewish.
Silverman graduated from Tufts University.[ citation needed ]
In 2022, Silverman replaced her sister Sarah as the voice of Vanellope von Schweetz from the 2012 Disney film Wreck-It Ralph in Disney Dreamlight Valley, two years later, she reprised her role as Vanellope in Disney Speedstorm.

The Parent Trap is a 1961 American romantic comedy film written and directed by David Swift. The film was directed by Rich Moore and Phil Johnston, and produced by Clark Spencer, from a screenplay written by Johnston and Pamela Ribon, and a story by Moore, Johnston, Ribon, Josie Trinidad, and Jim Reardon. John Lasseter, Jennifer Lee, and Chris Williams served as the film's executive producers. John C. Reilly, Sarah Silverman, Jack McBrayer, Jane Lynch, and Ed O'Neill reprise their character roles from the first film, and are joined by Gal Gadot, Taraji P. Henson, and Alfred Molina as part of the new cast, as well as Alan Tudyk, who voiced a new character in this film. In the film, Ralph (Reilly) and Vanellope von Schweetz (Silverman) must travel to the Internet to get a replacement for the Sugar Rush cabinet's broken steering wheel and prevent Mr. Litwak (O'Neill) from disposing of the game.
Who's the Caboose? is a 1997 comedy film co-written and directed by Sam Seder and starring himself and Sarah Silverman in their film debut. The supporting cast includes comedians David Cross, Andy Dick, Laura Silverman, Laura Kightlinger, Chuck Sklar, H. Jon Benjamin, Andy Kindler, Mark Cohen, Kathy Griffin, Leo Allen, Marc Maron and Todd Barry, most of whom had not appeared in a theatrical movie prior to this one. The screenplay by Sam Seder and Charles Fisher depicts a romantically involved couple who travel separately from Manhattan to Los Angeles to attempt to secure a television series role during "pilot season", a set period of months when producers cast new shows. The New York City sequence at the beginning of the film features footage shot at the Luna Lounge in the Lower East Side, which has since been razed.

Life & Beth is an American comedy-drama television series created by Amy Schumer, who also stars alongside Violet Young, Michael Cera, Yamaneika Saunders, Michael Rapaport, and Susannah Flood. The show premiered on Hulu on March 18, 2022. In April 2022, the series was renewed for a ten-episode second season. On February 16, 2024, the second season was released. In July 2024, Hulu cancelled the series after two seasons.
