Lauren Delany (born 17 June 1989) is an Irish rugby player from Shankill, Dublin. She plays for Sale Sharks and the Ireland women's national rugby union team. She works as a sports nutritionist.
Delany represented Ireland at basketball and only took up rugby at age 25, when she moved to England to do a master's degree. Her first club was Bletchley Ladies, then she moved to Waterloo Ladies who play in England's Premier 15s. [1]
In August 2020 she joined Sale Sharks. [2]
Delany was recruited by the Irish Rugby Football Union IQrugby (Irish-qualified) system which identifies talent outside of Ireland. Ireland manager Adam Griggs saw her first playing in an IQrugby trial in England in 2018. [3]
In 2018 she made her debut for the Ireland women's national rugby union team in an Autumn international v USA rugby. She made her Women's Six Nations debut, at full-back, against England in 2019 and was Ireland's starting full-back for every game of the 2019 Women's Six Nations. [4]
Moved to the wing in 2020, she scored her first Six Nations try, against Wales, in the 2020 Women's Six Nations.
She played on the right wing for Ireland in the 2021 Women's Six Nations. [5]
Delany went to school in Colaiste Iosagain in Dublin, an all-girls school where the main sports were basketball and ladies gaelic football. She competed in the Basketball Ireland Women's Superleague with Meteors Basketball Club and played for Ireland up to U23 level, including the European U16 Championships (2005). [6]
She has a degree in human nutrition and dietetics from Trinity College Dublin, a post-grad from Dublin Institute of Technology, a Masters in Science (Sport and Exercise Nutrition) from Loughborough University in England and is studying for a PhD at Leeds Beckett University. [7]
She lives in Manchester. Her work, with the English Institute of Sport, has seen her advising several of British sport's high performance units and Olympic sports (cycling, badminton, archery, taewondo and swimming) and she also advises the Leeds Rhinos on performance nutrition. [8]

Courtney Winfield-Hill is an Australian-born sportswoman who formerly played rugby league for England and Leeds Rhinos. Originally Winfield-Hill played cricket as a pace bowler for Queensland Fire and Brisbane Heat, before moving sports and countries to play rugby league.
Rachel Taylor is a Welsh former rugby union player who plays in either Lock or back row for the Bristol Ladies/Newport Gwent Dragons and the Wales women's national rugby union team. She won her first international cap against Canada in 2007, and has since captained the team. Following retirement in 2018, she became the first female head coach of a WRU National League club side, before becoming the skills coach for Wales Women between November 2020 and February 2021. In September 2021, Taylor joined Premiership Womens Rugby team Sale Sharks Women as the club's performance coach.
Lindsay Peat is an Ireland women's rugby union international. Peat represented Ireland at the 2017 Women's Rugby World Cup. Peat is an all-round sportswoman. In addition to representing Ireland at women's rugby union, she has also played for the Republic of Ireland women's national association football team at U-18 level, captained the Ireland women's national basketball team and played senior Ladies' Gaelic football for Dublin. Between 2009 and 2014 she played in three All-Ireland finals. She was a member of the Dublin team that won the All-Ireland title in 2010 and she scored two goals in the 2014 final.
Hannah Tyrrell is an Ireland women's rugby union international. Tyrrell represented Ireland at the 2017 Women's Rugby World Cup. She was also a member of the Ireland team that won the 2015 Women's Six Nations Championship. Tyrrell is also an Ireland women's rugby sevens international. She has also played two other football codes at a senior level. As a women's association football player, Tyrrell played for St Catherine's in two FAI Women's Cup finals and played for Shamrock Rovers in the Women's National League. She also plays senior Ladies' Gaelic football for Dublin in the Ladies' National Football League.

Gwenllian Pyrs is a Welsh rugby union player who plays loosehead prop for the Wales women's national rugby union team and Sale Sharks Women of Premier 15s. She made her debut for the Wales rugby union team in 2017 and has played in 15 matches for the national side. Pyrs has played for Scarlets, RGC Women, Caernarfon RFC and Firwood Waterloo at the club level. She works as a farmer, sheepdog breeder and trainer as well as a rugby hub officer for the Welsh Rugby Union while continuing her rugby career.
Sarah Law is a former Scottish rugby player from Penicuik, near Edinburgh. She played for Scotland and represented them over fifty times internationally, including at the 2021 Women's Six Nations Championship. Law was the fourth Scottish woman to receive a professional rugby contract from Scotland. She kicked the match-winning penalty in the win against Wales in the 2017 Women's Six Nations Championship to beat the opposing team for the first time in seven years. She repeated the feat under even more pressurised circumstances in 2021 when her 82nd minute conversion of a Chloe Rollie try put Scotland through to the qualification final for the Rugby World Cup at the expense of their opponents Ireland.
Lisa Neumann is a Welsh Rugby Union player who plays wing for the Wales women's national rugby union team and Harlequins. Neumann made her international debut in 2018, and represented the Wales squad at the 2021 Women's Six Nations Championship.
Aoife McDermott is an Irish rugby union player from Riverstown, Co Sligo. She plays lock forward for Railway Union RFC, Leinster and the Ireland women's national rugby union team. She is a qualified Intellectual Disability nurse and works currently in clinical research.
