Lauren Williams (born September 9, 1996) is a Canadian professional women's ice hockey player with the PWHPA. [1] An alumna of the Wisconsin Badgers women's ice hockey program, Williams was the first pick overall in the 2018 CWHL Draft by the Blades. [2]
Williams won a gold medal with Team Ontario Blue at the 2012 Canadian U18 National Championships.
Williams joined the University of Wisconsin for the 2014–15 season. In her senior year, Williams was named an alternate captain. [3] [4]
Williams was selected by the Worcester Blades with the first pick overall in the 2018 CWHL Draft. [5] As the first overall pick, the Blades pre-signed her for the 2018–19 season. [6] She was named the Blades only participant of the 4th Canadian Women's Hockey League All-Star Game. [7] [8]

Williams majored in sociology and psychology at the University of Wisconsin. With teammate Annie Pankowski, the two volunteered with Occupaws, an organization that trains guide dogs for the visually impaired in Wisconsin and bordering states. [11]
Jessica Ann "Jessie" Vetter is an American ice hockey player and a member of the United States women's national ice hockey team. She was also a member of the 2008–09 Wisconsin Badgers women's ice hockey team, which won an NCAA title. She was drafted 20th overall by the Boston Blades in the 2011 CWHL Draft.
Meghan Duggan is an American former ice hockey forward and director of player development for the New Jersey Devils of the National Hockey League. She played for the United States at the 2010 Winter Olympics and 2014 Winter Olympics, winning two silver medals; she was the captain of the U.S. team at the 2018 Winter Olympics, where she won a gold medal. She also represented the United States at eight Women's World Championships, capturing seven gold medals and one silver medal. Duggan played collegiate hockey with the Wisconsin Badgers between 2006 and 2011. After her senior season (2010–11), Duggan was named the winner of the Patty Kazmaier Award, presented annually to the top women's ice hockey player in the National Collegiate Athletic Association (NCAA). After her career at Wisconsin, Duggan was the team's all-time leading scorer. She was drafted 8th overall by the Boston Blades in the 2011 CWHL Draft.
Hilary Atwood Knight is an American ice hockey forward and captain of Boston of the Professional Women's Hockey League (PWHL). She is also a member of the United States women's national ice hockey team. She previously played for the Les Canadiennes de Montréal of the CWHL and the Boston Pride of the NWHL, with whom she won the inaugural Isobel Cup.

She won the 2012 Patty Kazmaier Award while playing for the University of Wisconsin, recognizing the best female ice hockey player in NCAA Division I play. The 2018 CWHL Draft, the ninth and final in league history, took place on August 26. It marked the first and only draft Jayna Hefford served as CWHL commissioner. The CWHL indicated that general managers were authorized to "pre-sign" their first and second round selections before the draft. The window for pre-signing expired on August 17. Lauren Williams, a Canadian player and alumna of the Wisconsin Badgers women's ice hockey program, was the first pick overall in the draft. Long after this draft, the CWHL discontinued operations on May 1, 2019, having announced its intention on March 31.
