LAURENT FERRIER is a Swiss watch manufacturer founded in 2009 and named after its founder, Laurent Ferrier. The company focuses on luxury watches with a production of around 300 watches in 2021. The company is headquartered in Plan-les-Ouates in the canton of Geneva, Switzerland.

Founder

Laurent Ferrier, born December 19, 1946, is a son and grandson of watchmakers. [1] His father worked on watches giving young Laurent an early exposure to Haute Horlogerie. [1] [2] He trained at a watchmaking school and joined Patek Philippe shortly after. There, he worked on the prototype of the Genta-designed Nautilus. [3]

Laurent Ferrier was also a semi-professional car racer, driving various models such as the Lotus 18, Porsche 934, Porsche 935, and the BMW M1. [4] In 1979 he finished 3rd at Le Mans, [4] behind Paul Newman. It was during his racing years that he met and befriended François Servanin who would later become his associate. He worked at Patek Philippe for the next 30 years attaining the rank of technical director before launching his eponymous brand in 2010. [5]

Gallet (ˈgæl.eɪ) is a historic Swiss manufacturer of high-end timepieces for professional, military, sports, racing, and aviation use. H. Moser & Cie. is a trademark of Moser Schaffhausen AG, a Swiss luxury watch manufacturer. The original H. Moser & Cie. was founded by independent watchmaker Heinrich Moser in St. Petersburg, Russia in 1828. Notable early clients of H. Moser & Cie. included Russian princes and members of the Russian Imperial Court; Vladimir Lenin also owned a Moser watch. After Moser died in 1874, the company was sold, and its business in Russia was expropriated in 1918 due to the October Revolution.

Philippe Dufour is a Swiss-born watchmaker from Le Sentier, Vallée de Joux. He is regarded as the greatest master of modern watchmaking, and his watches are referenced as among the best ever made. He finishes all of his watches himself by hand. In 1992, Dufour was the first watchmaker to put arguably the most complex of complications in a wristwatch, a Sonnerie. His other two models include Duality and Simplicity.

Nicholas Foulkes is an English historian, author, and journalist. He has written extensively about 19th-century social history as well as the history of luxury goods. Robb Report included his book, The Impossible Collection of Watches, in a list of "5 Books Every Watch Collector Should Own," and his book, Swans —Legends of the Jet Society, was optioned for production as a TV series.

Konstantin Chaykin is a Russian watchmaker and inventor. He started as an independent watchmaker in 2003, establishing a workshop in St. Petersburg, Russia. In the interests of the business, in 2012 he transferred production to Moscow, Russia, where his company currently resides. He completed his first clock in 2004. and in 2008 Académie Horlogère des Créateurs Indépendants accepted him as a candidate. Since 2010 he has been a member of the AHCI, while in 2016 he was elected by AHCI members as the President, a position held until 2019. In October 2022, the jury of the Temporis International Awards included Konstantin Chaikin in the Temporis Hall of Fame.
