Laurie Moe Buckhout (born 1961) is an American government official. She served in the United States Department of Defense as the acting Assistant Secretary of Defense for Cyber Policy from March to September of 2025. [3] She was the Republican nominee for North Carolina's 1st congressional district in 2024,narrowly losing to incumbent Don Davis. [4] She is running again in 2026. [5]
Buckhout served in the U.S. Army for 26 years,including serving in the Gulf War. She retired as a Colonel. [6]
