The National Democratic Alliance (NDA) is a centre-right to right-wing conservative Indian political alliance led by the right-wing Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP). It was founded in 1998 and currently controls the government of India as well as the government of 15 Indian states and one Union territory.
Bhairon Singh Shekhawat was an Indian politician who served as the 11th vice president of India. He served in that position from August 2002, when he was elected to a five-year term by the electoral college following the death of Krishan Kant, until he resigned on 21 July 2007, after losing the presidential election to Pratibha Patil. Bhairon Singh Shekhawat was a member of the Bharatiya Janata Party. He served as the Chief Minister of Rajasthan three times, from 1977 to 1980, 1990 to 1992 and 1993 to 1998. He represented several constituencies in Rajasthan Vidhan Sabha from 1952 to 2002. He was also awarded Padma Bhushan in the year 2003.
Although India is a parliamentary democracy, the country's politics has become dynastic or with high level of nepotism, possibly due to the absence of party organizations, independent civil-society associations which mobilize support for a party, or centralized financing of elections. The dynastic phenomenon is present at the national, state, regional, and district level. The Nehru–Gandhi family has produced three Indian prime ministers, and family members have largely led the Congress party since 1978. The ruling Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) also has several dynastic leaders. In addition to the major national parties, other national and regional parties such as Shiromani Akali Dal, Shiv Sena, Samajwadi Party, Rashtriya Janata Dal, Janata Dal Secular, Jharkhand Mukti Morcha, Dravida Munnetra Kazhagam, Kerala Congress, Jammu & Kashmir National Conference, Indian Union Muslim League, AIMIM, and the Nationalist Congress Party are all dominated by families, mostly those of the party founders.

Ashok Gehlot is an Indian politician who served as the Chief Minister of Rajasthan from 1998 to 2003, then again from December 2008 to 2013, and later from December 2018 to 2023. He represents Sardarpura constituency of Jodhpur as Member of Legislative Assembly of Rajasthan since 1999. He was a Member of Parliament, Lok Sabha from Jodhpur from 1991 to 1999 and from 1980 to 1989 and Union Minister of State for Textile from 1991 to 1993, Tourism and Civil aviation from 1984 to 1984 and Deputy Union minister for Sports from 1984 to 1984. He was also a national General secretary of Congress Party, in-charge of organisations and training from March 2018 to 23 January 2019. He was also made in-charge of Gujarat state in 2017 Gujarat Legislative Assembly election.
Col. Sonaram Choudhary is an Indian politician, and a member of the Indian National Congress since 2014. He represented Barmer constituency in Rajasthan, India, in Lok Sabha for Indian National Congress, winning elections in 1996, 1998, 1999. He lost 2004 Lok Sabha elections to BJP's Manavendra Singh. Later, he left Congress and joined Bhartiya Janta Party before 2014 Indian general elections. He was declared candidate of BJP from Barmer instead of veteran BJP leader Jaswant Singh, and won 2014 elections.
Captain Sachin Pilot is an Indian politician. Earlier he served as the MoS Corporate Affairs & MoS Communication & IT, Government of India, Deputy Chief Minister of Rajasthan and also President of the Rajasthan Pradesh Congress Committee. As Member of the Congress party, he has represented the Tonk assembly seat in Rajasthan since 2018. Pilot became the youngest citizen of India to become Member of Parliament.
Politics of Rajasthan is mainly dominated by two parties, the Bharatiya Janata Party and the Indian National Congress. The current government in Rajasthan is that of the Indian National Congress and Ashok Gehlot is the Chief Minister.
Legislative Assembly elections were held in the Indian state of Rajasthan on 1 December 2013. Results were announced on 8 December. The incumbent ruling party Indian National Congress, led by the Chief Minister Ashok Gehlot, lost the elections to Vasundhara Raje-led BJP, who was being touted as the next incumbent.

Keshav Prasad Maurya is an Indian politician, currently serving as the Deputy Chief Minister of Uttar Pradesh. He is a member of the Bharatiya Janata Party. Maurya was associated with right wing Hindu organization Rashtriya Swayamsevak Sangh, before entering active politics through BJP. He was also involved in cow protectionism in his early life. Before 2017 Uttar Pradesh Legislative Assembly elections, he was made state president of the BJP, and after the victory of BJP, he was appointed as Deputy Chief Minister of Uttar Pradesh in the first Yogi Adityanath Government. Maurya again contested the legislative assembly elections in 2022 from Sirathu Assembly constituency, losing to Pallavi Patel of Samajwadi Party. However, he was given second term as Deputy CM in the second Yogi Adityanath government.
Hanuman Beniwal is an Indian politician and farmer leader, serving as the Member of Parliament in the 17th Lok Sabha from Nagaur since 2019. He is founder, president and national convenor of the Rashtriya Loktantrik Party, formed in 29 October 2018 in Jaipur.
K. Laxman is an Indian politician from the state of Telangana who currently the National President for Bharatiya Janata Party's OBC Morcha since 26 September 2020. He is a former State President of Bharatiya Janata Party in Telangana from 2016 to 2020. He represented Musheerabad Assembly constituency twice as MLA from 1999-2004 in Andhra Pradesh Assembly and from 2014-2018 in Telangana Legislative Assembly.
Pratap Singh Khachariyawas is an Indian National Congress politician, who is presently the Cabinet Minister of Food & Civil Supplies Consumer affairs Government of Rajasthan. He is also one of the Cabinet Ministers in the government, which is headed by Ashok Gehlot. Pratap Singh has held the post of the spokesperson of Rajasthan Pradesh Congress Committee and president of Jaipur Congress since 2015, previously he served as a Member of the Legislative Assembly (MLA) in Civil Lines
Ratan Dewasi Desai is an Indian politician. He is a member of All India Congress Committee and state spokesperson of Rajasthan State Congress. , He has been an MLA from Raniwara constituency in the Rajasthan Assembly elections, 2008 and Deputy Chief Whip in the Ashok Gehlot government.
Elections to the Madhya Pradesh Legislative Assembly were held on 28 November 2018 to elect members of the 230 constituencies in Madhya Pradesh. It is believed that the election was a direct political battle between the BJP and the INC. One of the main centers of attraction was the contest between Congress heavy-weight Arun Yadav and the then Chief Minister Shivraj Singh Chouhan. While the Shivraj Singh Chouhan government had tried to win for consecutive 4th term, the INC fought for winning the state after 2003. The election led to a hung assembly, with the INC emerging as the single largest party and the BJP winning the popular vote.
Murari Lal Meena is an Indian politician, member of Rajasthan Legislative Assembly from Dausa Constituency. Meena had fielded his wife as a Congress candidate against Jaskaur Meena, the BJP candidate from Dausa in the 17th Lok Sabha elections of India. Meena is considered a supporter of Sachin Pilot. He is a former minister in Rajasthan government (2008-2013). He lost 2013 Rajasthan assembly election from Dausa. He is the Minister of State in the present Rajasthan Government.
Shri Parsadi Lal Meena is an Indian politician and currently serving as the Cabinet Minister of Health & State Excise in Ashok Gehlot ministry and also member of 8th, 9th, 10th, 11th, 13th and 15th Legislative Assembly of Rajasthan. He also served as Minister of Cooperative and Food Supply for two terms (1998–2003) and (2008–2013). And currently he represents Lalsot Assembly constituency as a member of Indian National Congress.
On 12 July 2020, around 19 members of the Rajasthan Legislative Assembly, as claimed by the then Deputy Chief Minister of Rajasthan Sachin Pilot, flew to Delhi after disputes over different offices between rival factions of the Rajasthan Pradesh Congress Committee, starting a governmental crisis in the state of Rajasthan.
The 14th Rajasthan Legislative Assembly was elected in 2013 Rajasthan Legislative Assembly election.
