Javelin is a production duo based in Brooklyn, New York City. Cousins George Langford and Tom Van Buskirk started making music together in Providence, RI in 2005, although their earliest tape experiments date back to childhood. Each member is a multi-instrumentalist. George plays the guitar, bass guitar, drums, and mandolin, while Tom plays the cello and piano. The duo has been described as "obsessed with old school hip-hop of an ‘80s vintage". While creating mostly mellow electro-pop/80s-synth style music, the band's music is very eclectic and they have even produced a country music album.

Kate Van Buskirk is a Canadian Olympian, cross-country and track runner, with 18 years National Team experience. She won bronze for Canada at the 2014 Commonwealth Games in the 1500 m. She began hosting and producing The Shakeout Podcast in 2018, for Canadian Running, and was named as an Athlete Director of Athletics Canada, in August 2019. She continues in this role as of August 2020.

The 2021 FIVB Volleyball Women's Nations League was the third edition of the FIVB Volleyball Women's Nations League, an annual women's international volleyball tournament. The 2021 version of VNL was scheduled to start earlier than the previous edition due to the 2020 Summer Olympics in July. The competition was held in between May and June 2021, and the final round took place in Rimini Fiera, Rimini, Italy.
