An autogyro, also known as a gyroplane or gyrocopter, is a type of rotorcraft that uses an unpowered rotor in free autorotation to develop lift. Forward thrust is provided independently, by an engine-driven propeller. While similar to a helicopter rotor in appearance, the autogyro's rotor must have air flowing across the rotor disc to generate rotation, and the air flows upwards through the rotor disc rather than down.
Airfix is a British brand and former manufacturing company which produced injection-moulded plastic scale model kits of different vehicles. In the U.K., the name 'Airfix' is synonymous with plastic models of this type, often simply referred to as "an airfix kit" even if made by another manufacturer.
A light-sport aircraft (LSA), or light sport aircraft, is a fairly new category of small, lightweight aircraft that are simple to fly. The Layzell Cricket is a single-seat autogyro produced in the United Kingdom for homebuilding, although it was first produced in the early 1970s fully factory-built. It was a typically minimalist design, featuring a pilot's seat semi-enclosed within a fairing, and a pusher engine and large tailfin located aft of the rotor mast. Forty-three of the original Crickets were built by Campbell Aircraft, with the type enjoying a brief revival in 2001 when it was marketed in kit form by Mike Concannon of Cricket Gyroplanes, before reaching production again in 2005 by Layzell Gyroplanes as the Mk.6.
Mark Hamilton is a British lead guitarist who played for UK rock band Quench,. He has also played for Warner Bros' Top 40 artist Doug Walker and features on Doug's debut album Fear Together (2009) as well as ex Dum Dums frontman Josh Doyle in the US, Vicky Beeching and Martyn Layzell. He has also appeared with various other artists for TV and recording sessions including Italian superstar Elisa, on the same bill as Destiny's Child at an MTV Live event. He also joined Josh Doyle's band on his UK tour in 2009. Current projects include King Awesome, a tribute to late 80s 'Hair Metal' and rock covers band Inner City Sumo.
The RAF 2000 is a two-seat kit built autogyro that was designed by Bernard J. Haseloh. Kits were first manufactured by Rotary Air Force Marketing Inc. in Canada. The marketing and manufacturing rights were sold to the Mocke Family in Upington, Northern Cape, South Africa in April 2007. They formed UMRTC Eben Mocke to produce the aircraft design.

AeroAndina S.A. is a Colombian aircraft manufacturer based in Cali. The company was founded in 1971 as Agrocopteros Ltda to produce gyroplanes and later helicopters and biplanes. In 1998 the name was changed to Tecnologias Aeronauticas S.A. and it was known as Aerotec S.A.. The company was liquidated in the early 2000s and reformed under its present name.
