Lazarus Sims (born March 28, 1972) is an American former professional basketball player. He also worked as the head coach of the Gulf Coast Lions of The Basketball League (TBL). [1]

Sims played at Syracuse from 1992 to 1996. He averaged 7.4 assists per game in his final season at Syracuse. [2] He ranks 8th on the school's all-time assist list with 432 assists. [3] In August 2007, he returned to Syracuse after being appointed to head coach Jim Boeheim's staff as the player development coach.

Post-playing career

In August 2007, Sims was named the player development coach for Syracuse's men's basketball team, returning to his college program that he graduated from in 1996 and effectively ending his eleven-year professional playing career. [4] In June 2012, Sims accepted a job at Binghamton University to work on the staff of the school's first-year coach Tommy Dempsey, joining as an assistant to the head coach. [5]

Marcel "Marc" Guley was an American college basketball player and coach who was head coach of the Syracuse Orange from 1950–1962. He was born in the Austro-Hungarian Empire. He had been an assistant to Lewis Andreas prior to his appointment as head coach. His teams compiled a record of 136 wins and 129 losses with a winning percentage of .513. Guley's tenure as Syracuse's coach was capped off by 1956–1957 team, which was Syracuse's first NCAA Tournament appearance. The team went 18–7 on the year, and beat Connecticut and Lafayette before falling to eventual champion North Carolina 67–58 in the Regional Final. Guley left the Orange after the 1961–1962 season, where the team went 2–22. He was replaced by Fred Lewis.
