Underground comix are small press or self-published comic books that are often socially relevant or satirical in nature. They differ from mainstream comics in depicting content forbidden to mainstream publications by the Comics Code Authority, including explicit drug use, sexuality, and violence. They were most popular in the United States in the late 1960s and 1970s, and in the United Kingdom in the 1970s.
The Print Mint, Inc. was a major publisher and distributor of underground comix based in the San Francisco Bay Area during the genre's late 1960s-early 1970s heyday. Starting as a retailer of psychedelic posters, the Print Mint soon evolved into a publisher, printer, and distributor. It was "ground zero" for the psychedelic poster. The Print Mint was originally owned by poet Don Schenker and his wife Alice, who later partnered in the business with Bob and Peggy Rita.
William Henry Jackson Griffith is an American cartoonist who signs his work Bill Griffith and Griffy. He is best known for his surreal daily comic strip Zippy. The catchphrase "Are we having fun yet?" is credited to Griffith.

She was a key contributor to the first all-female underground comic, It Ain't Me, Babe, as well as its follow-up series, Wimmen's Comix.

Los Lichis is a Mexican free-rock group founded in 1996 and based in Monterrey and Mexico City. The band first worked as a multimedia concept art collective but later moved to musical improvisations with a Lo-fi sound. In 2000, French composer Jean Baptiste Favory joined the group. The band has also performed under aliases, such as "Cacaflies" and "Chavilocos & The Butchers Filarmonika".
Pierre-François Laurent (1739-1809) was an engraver and co-director with Louis-Nicolas-Joseph Robillard de Péronville of the publication Le Musée français. As an engraver, he specialised in landscapes and genre subjects after Dutch artists. He also produced several engravings of subjects from the recent national history.
Freddy Tsimba is a sculptor and visual artist from the Democratic Republic of Congo. He has made sculptures from bullet casings collected on Congolese war battlefields. One of his artwork entitled Au-delà de l'espoir was commissioned by the municipality of Ixelles in Brussels and installed on the corner of Chaussée de Wavre and Longue-Vie street in Matonge district.
