Legend Quest is an American adventure television series that premiered on July 13, 2011, on the SyFy channel. The series follows historian and adventure-seeker Ashley Cowie in his quest to crack the code on his hunt for the most powerful lost treasures in the world. On March 12, 2012, TVWise reported that the series has been cancelled by Syfy. [1]

Plot summary

In the introduction, Cowie states:

My name is Ashley Cowie. I'm an author and archaeologist explorer specializing in ancient symbols and mysterious legends. I've spent years studying some of the world's most fascinating relics. In the series premiere, historian and adventurer Ashley Cowie and his team of explorers search for the Ark of the Covenant in Lalibela, Ethiopia and the Mayan Talking Cross of the jungles in South America.

Ashley and his team go on a grand adventure searching for the King Arthur's legendary sword, Excalibur in Shropshire, England, Palermo, Sicily, Ostuni, Italy, and Marne-la-Vallée, France. Next, Ashley's off to the Philippines in search of the Hindu and Buddhist legend of the lost Cintamani Stone which is said to grant wishes to those who possess it and has to dive in the crater of a former volcano, Lake Taal.
3"Holy Lance/Incan Golden Sun Disc [2] "July 27, 2011 (2011-07-27)
The team searches for the Holy Lance of Longinus (aka The Spear of Destiny) in Europe which is reputed to have been used at the Crucifixion of Jesus. Then they travel to Peru searching for a golden disc in the Peruvian mountains to look into its legend of whoever possesses the disc can allegedly stop time.

Ashley and his team travel to in Israel in search for clues about the staff of Moses. Next, they try to discover the Stone of Destiny's true location in Scotland.

Ashley and his team search the U.K. for treasures said to have been hidden away by Merlin, the most famous sorcerer. Then they attempt to find the magical signet ring of King Solomon, which is said to give its wearer the ability to command the djinn and understand the speech of animals.
6"Holy Grail [3] "August 17, 2011 (2011-08-17)
Ashley and his team go after one of the biggest legends of the Middle Ages, the Holy Grail, thought to be the cup used by Christ at the Last Supper.

Fabrication of shots/locations

In Season 1, Episode 3, during the search for The Holy Lance, the team claims to have gone to Area 51 before deciding they could not gain entry and ultimately abandoning the search. However, it has been pointed out that the unoccupied guard house that Ashley and Kinga are filmed in front of is not the entrance to Area 51 and that they, in fact, fabricated the shot from another location. Urban Legends is an American documentary-style television series hosted by Michael Allcock with David Hewlett became the new host in 2011. In each episode, three urban legends are dramatized and presented to the television audience; the audience is then asked to speculate which one or two of the three is true. <i>Joe Rogan Questions Everything</i> American television series

Joe Rogan Questions Everything was an American television series that premiered on SyFy in 2013. The series followed entertainer and stand-up comedian Joe Rogan, as well as co-host Duncan Trussell, as they investigated claims about paranormal and mysterious subjects like Bigfoot, psychic ability and UFOs. It was described as a "comedy/reality/debunking series" as well as a "visual podcast show", and was similar in content to Rogan's podcast: "if you've ever listened to Rogan's podcast, The Joe Rogan Experience, you know the kind of stuff this show will be focusing on". The show's form was based on a presentation of the topic following up with interviews with experts and members of the public that claimed anecdotal evidence for the cases. Various field research trips were also done in an attempt to gather evidence. Through the series, Joe Rogan took the position of a skeptic, with the Mansfield News-Journal saying that he "brings a helpful blend — sometimes skeptical, often hopeful and open-minded". The show was loosely based on conversations and topics from the Joe Rogan Experience, with some video out-takes. Some topic presentations and general discussions were set in a podcast studio. Joe Rogan Questions Everything was produced by A. Smith & Co.Productions.

Opposite Worlds was an American reality game show that originally aired on the cable channel Syfy. The format of the show was based on the successful Chilean series Mundos Opuestos which aired from 2012 to 2013 on the national free-to-air channel Canal 13. The series revolved around a group of strangers divided into two teams, and made to live in a house divided by "future" and "past" themes. The teams competed in weekly challenges to determine where they would live. One contestant, known as the Decider, selected two contestants to compete in a challenge, with the loser being eliminated from the game. The winner of the series, determined after six weeks, won a $100,000 prize. The series was hosted by Luke Tipple. The show premiered on January 21, 2014 and aired on Tuesdays and Wednesdays, with the latter being a live elimination episode. The show was cancelled after one season.

Candle Cove is an online creepypasta horror story written by web cartoonist and author Kris Straub. The story centers on a fictional television series, titled Candle Cove, that could only be viewed by a small group of people, predominantly children, who later recall the disturbing show on a web forum. Straub has stated that he was inspired to write the creepypasta after reading an article by the satirical news outlet The Onion, titled Area 36-Year-Old Still Has Occasional Lidsville Nightmare.
