Legion Simferopol is an ice hockey team in Simferopol, Ukraine. The club was founded in 2008, and played in Division B (South) of the Vyscha Liha during the 2009-10 season. They finished in third and last place in the group, with a record of two wins and six losses, with 37 goals for and 63 against. [1]

Oleksandr Borysovych Holovko is a Ukrainian former footballer who played as a centre-back and current manager of Dinaz Vyshhorod. Holovko also used to be a regular start-up for the Ukraine national football team. He earned eight Ukrainian Vyshcha Liha titles with Tavriya Simferopol and Dynamo Kyiv.

The 1994–95 Vyshcha Liha season was the 4th since its establishment. FC Dynamo Kyiv were the defending champions.

1992 Vyshcha Liha was the first football championship organized in Ukraine after the dissolution of the Soviet Union and officially recognized by the UEFA. The last Soviet season finished in fall of 1991.

The 2008–09 Ukrainian First League is the eighteenth since its establishment. The Professional Football League (PFL) decreased the number of teams in the league. This season, there are 18 teams instead of 20 teams competing. Two of the teams were relegated from the 2007–08 Ukrainian Premier League and two were promoted from the 2007–08 Ukrainian Second League. To decrease the number of teams in the competition 4 teams were relegated from the 2007–08 Ukrainian First League season.
