Lei Muk Shue East is one of the 17 constituencies of the Tsuen Wan District Council. It covers the east part of Lei Muk Shue Estate and the rural villages at the west of Wo Yee Hop Road. The seat elects one member of the council every four years. Prior to its creation in 1999, the seat has continuously been held by Sumly Chan Yuen-sum of Civic Party since 1985.

Lei Muk Shue, formerly Lai Muk Shu, is an area in East Tsuen Wan of Hong Kong. It includes the area surrounding Lei Muk Shue Estate on a hill slope near Wo Yi Hop. However, the proper Lei Muk Shue was a village located south of the junction of Castle Peak Road and Lei Muk Road, near the former river of Kwai Chung.

Sumly Chan

Sumly Chan Yuen-sum is a social worker and politician in Hong Kong, a member of the Civic Party, the chairman and the member of Tsuen Wan District Council. He has served as district councillor in Tsuen Wan since 1985 and is one of the Hong Kong district councillors with the longest years of service.

Cheung Shan Estate Public housing estate in Tsuen Wan, Hong Kong

Cheung Shan Estate is a public housing estate located between Shek Wai Kok Estate and Lei Muk Shue Estate, and near Shing Mun Valley Park and Shing Mun Tunnels in Tsuen Wan, New Territories, Hong Kong. Formerly the site of Cheung Pei Shan Temporary Housing Area, it consists of three residential buildings completed in 1978.

Lei Muk Shue Estate

Lei Muk Shue Estate is a public housing estate in Lei Muk Shue, Tsuen Wan, New Territories, Hong Kong, near the exit of Shing Mun Tunnels. It is the largest public housing estate in the Tsuen Wan District with the population of 37,000. Although it is geographically located in the eastern part of Tsuen Wan as well as the northern part of Kwai Chung, administratively it belongs to the Tsuen Wan District instead of the Kwai Tsing District because it is at the west of Wo Yi Hop Road, the boundary between the two districts.
