Leigh Jamieson (born 30 July 1985) is an English professional ice hockey player currently playing for Milton Keynes Lightning in the National Ice Hockey League (NIHL).

Jamieson began his career with his hometown Milton Keynes Kings and also played for England Under 20's before joining another MK team the Milton Keynes Lightning. He then signed with Elite League team the Belfast Giants where he was a key member of their squad and helped them with the Elite League title in 2006. His performances for the Giants also earned him a place in the Great Britain national ice hockey team. After five seasons with the Giants he signed for the Coventry Blaze. In 2009, Jamieson returned home and re-signed with the Milton Keynes Lightning, helping them win the EPIHL title that season and has made the EPIHL First All-Star team in three successive seasons.

After a spells with Peterborough Phantoms and Streatham IHC, Jamieson re-joined Milton Keynes Lightning in 2019. He then agreed to remain with the Lightning ahead of the 2020-21 season. [1]

English Premier Ice Hockey League

The English Premier Ice Hockey League (EPIHL) was an ice hockey league of 10 teams, all of which were based in England. Headquartered in Blackpool, the EPIHL was one of two professional ice hockey leagues in the United Kingdom. A total of 27 teams played in the league at one time or another. Swindon Wildcats were the only team to have consistently featured in the EPIHL from its inaugural season in 1997-98. In 2017, the league was disbanded, with its teams either joining the top-tier Elite Ice Hockey League or the second-tier National Ice Hockey League.

Peterborough Phantoms British ice hockey team

The Peterborough Phantoms are a British ice hockey team that play at the Planet Ice Peterborough Arena, in Bretton, Peterborough. The Peterborough Phantoms ice hockey club was founded in 2002. It replaced the former city based team, the Peterborough Pirates, and plays in the same arena. The team currently competes in the semi-professional National Ice Hockey League, the second tier in British ice hockey below the fully professional Elite Ice Hockey League (EIHL). They previously played in the English Premier Ice Hockey League (EPIHL).

Milton Keynes Kings

Milton Keynes Kings were an Ice Hockey team based in Milton Keynes that originally played in various divisions of the British Hockey League (BHL) from 1990 until 1996. In 1998, two seasons after the closure of the BHL, they joined the English Premier Ice Hockey League (EPIHL) for a season before moving into the higher level British National League for four consecutive seasons between 1999 and 2003. Following a dispute with the owners of the Planet Ice Arena in Milton Keynes in 2002; combined with the dissolution of the second incarnation of the Solihull Barons, the team relocated to the Blue Ice Plaza in Solihull, where they rebranded themselves the "Solihull MK Kings" for the 2002-03 BNL season; effectively merging the Milton Keynes and Solihull franchises in that league. Around the same time that the move to Solihull occurred, the owners of Planet Ice Arena formed the Milton Keynes Lightning; whom joined the EPIHL shortly after their formation. Following the culmination of the Kings' first season in Solihull in May 2003; the team resigned from the BNL and was dissolved. Following their dissolution; they were first replaced in Solihull by the newly formed Solihull Kings, who joined the EPIHL for two seasons between 2003 and 2005 before dissolving; and later replaced by a reformed Solihull Barons who again joined the EPIHL for two seasons between 2005 and 2007; before settling into the lower English National Ice Hockey League from 2007 onwards.

Solihull Barons are an English ice hockey team from the town of Solihull who play at Solihull Ice Rink on Hobs Moat Road. The current team, which is the third incarnation of the Barons, was formed in 2005; they are named after the original team of the same name who were formed in 1965, and played at the same ice rink between 1972 until 2000; when they moved to Coventry and became Coventry Blaze.

Milton Keynes Thunder are an ice hockey team from Milton Keynes, Buckinghamshire, they are known stylistically as the Milton Keynes Rightmove Thunder for sponsorship purposes, and the team currently competes in the Britton Conference, of the National Ice Hockey League Division 1 South. The team was founded in 2001 predominantly to provide competitive hockey and further development opportunities for players leaving the Milton Keynes Junior Ice Hockey system. The 2019–20 EIHL season was the 17th season of the Elite Ice Hockey League. The regular season commenced on 7 September 2019 and was due to end on 29 March 2020, with the playoffs following in April 2020. The reigning league champions were the Belfast Giants, who won the title on the final day of the regular season, in 2018–19.
