Lekki Lagoon, is a lagoon located in Lagos and Ogun states in Nigeria. The lagoon lies directly to the east of Lagos Lagoon and is connected to it by a channel. It is surrounded by many beaches.
There are two phases in the Lekki vicinity, which are Lekki phase I and Lekki phase II. Lekki phase I is considered to be one of the most expensive places to live in Lagos state.[ citation needed ] This is due to the latest housing developments which are being created on the Lekki phase I axis. It has been predicted by many that the Lekki Peninsula vicinity will soon become the best area to live and work in Lagos. The homes in lekki are very big and expensive due to its high demand.
Due to the extensive construction going on at Lekki, major destruction of the remaining pristine swamps and little wildlife habitats left in Lagos state has occurred. The only place where any conservation of nature is found is at the Lekki Conservation center, run by the Nigerian Conservation Foundation. Lekki has 2 main local governments - Eti-osa and Epe. Third Mainland Bridge is the longest of three bridges connecting Lagos Island to the mainland, the other are the Eko and Carter bridges. It was the longest bridge in Africa until 1996 when the 6th October Bridge located in Cairo was completed. The bridge starts from Oworonshoki which is linked to the Apapa-Oshodi expressway and Lagos-Ibadan expressway, and ends at the Adeniji Adele Interchange on Lagos Island. There is also a link midway through the bridge that leads to Herbert Macaulay Way, Yaba. The bridge was built by Julius Berger Nigeria PLC. The phase one of the project was commissioned by President Shehu Shagari in 1980 and completed by President Ibrahim Babangida in 1990; it measures about 11.8 km in length.
Lagoon School is a private all-girls Primary and secondary school located in Lekki, in Lagos State, Nigeria. It has about seven hundred students in the secondary section and about two hundred and fifty pupils in the Primary Section and a hundred members of staff.
Ibeju-Lekki is a local government area of Lekki, Lagos State, Nigeria. The administrative centre was formerly at Akodo and was later moved to Igando Oloja due to the creation of Lekki Council Development Area. The name of the Local government was derived from two autonomous communities, Ibeju and Lekki.

Eko Atlantic, officially Nigeria International Commerce city, also known as Eko Atlantic City, or the initials E.A.C. and E.A., is a planned city of Lagos State, Nigeria, being constructed on land reclaimed from the Atlantic Ocean. Upon completion, the new peninsula is anticipating at least 250,000 residents and a daily flow of 150,000 commuters. The development is also designed to help in stopping the erosion of Lagos city's coastline.
The Lekki-Ikoyi Link Bridge, is a 1.36 km cable-stayed bridge in Lagos State. It links the Phase 1 area of Lekki, with Ikoyi district of Lagos. The bridge was commissioned on the 29th of May 2013 by the Governor of Lagos State, Babatunde Raji Fashola.
Yabacon Valley (YV) is a nickname for an area within Yaba. Yaba is a suburb of Lagos, Nigeria and located at the mainland of the Lagos. This area is already growing as Nigeria’s technology hub and cluster of hundreds of banking institutions, educational institutions, technology and startup companies which steadily attracts angel investors, venture capitalists, enthusiasts and media people from all over the world. This cluster is the major reason many technology firms are considering opening up shops in Yaba. Close to the region is the Lagos Lagoon which lies on its south-western side, it empties into the Atlantic via Lagos Harbor, a main channel through the heart of the city, 0.5 km to 1 km wide and 10 km long. The term originally was born from an unintentional act of an absent mind, manipulating the Silicon Valley name to create a nick version for this cluster while writing a story title. More so, due to the lagoon near this region, the term Silicon lagoon has also been used to refer to this cluster although this is yet to stick and its origin or creator is unknown.
Lekki is a city in Lagos State, Nigeria. It is located to the south-east of Lagos city. Lekki is a naturally formed peninsula, adjoining to its west Victoria Island and Ikoyi districts of Lagos, with the Atlantic Ocean to its south, Lagos Lagoon to the north, and Lekki Lagoon to its east; however, the city's southeast which ends around the western edge of Refuge Island, adjoins the eastern part of Ibeju-Lekki LGA.

On the night of 20 October 2020, at about 6:50 p.m, members of the Nigerian Army opened fire on peaceful End SARS protesters at the Lekki toll gate in Lagos State, Nigeria. Amnesty International stated that at least 12 protesters were killed during the shooting. There have been complaints about missing persons and a few have been confirmed to be hospitalized and in critical condition. A day after the incident, on the 21 October, the governor of Lagos State, Babajide Sanwo-olu, initially denied reports of any loss of lives, but later admitted in an interview with a CNN journalist that "only two persons were killed". The Nigerian Army who were the principal actors in the shooting initially denied that the shooting ever happened and that none of its personnel were present at the toll gate. They reaffirmed their position that the video footages of its personnel shooting into the crowd were 'photoshopped'. A week later, however, the Nigerian Army admitted to an investigative panel in the presence of press, that it had deployed soldiers to the toll gate on the orders of the governor of Lagos State. The governor tweeted the next day and said “It is imperative to explain that no governor controls the rules of engagement of the army.” His tweet was taken to mean that he had not made any such orders.
