Lembaga Musyawarah Adat Asmat or LMAA is a grassroots community organization in the Asmat region in the southwestern coast of Papua, a province of Indonesia, located on the island of New Guinea.
The name of the organization can be loosely translated as the Asmat Traditional Assembly. LMAA represents and articulates the interests of the Asmat community in promoting self-reliance, self-governance, and sustainable economic development.
Mr. Yufen Biakai is Chairman of LMAA, Mr. Amandus Anakat is Vice-Chairman, Ernest Dicim is Treasurer, and Wiro Birif is Secretary. LMAA consists of representatives of FAR Sub-Councils (Forum Adat Rumpun), each representing the twelve different sub-regions of Asmat. These sub-regions include Joirat, Emari Ducur, Bismam, Becembub, Simai, Kenekap, Unir Siran, Unir Epmak, Safan, Aramatak, Bras, and Yupmakcain.

The Butonese people is a generic term that embraces a number of sub-ethnic groups from Buton and its neighbouring islands in Southeast Sulawesi. Often at times the Bajau people are mislabeled as Butonese people. Just like most tribes in Sulawesi, the Butonese people are also seafarers and traders. The Butonese people have long since migrated to all corners of the Malay archipelago using smaller vessels ranging from those that can only accommodate five people to large boats that can hold up to about 150 tons of goods. In general, the Butonese is a community that inhabits the region of the Buton Sultanate. When the swapraja domain was abolished, so did the Buton Sultanate also ended in 1951. Those regions have now changed to several regencies and cities in Southeast Sulawesi. Among them are Baubau, Buton Regency, South Buton Regency, Central Buton Regency, North Buton Regency, Wakatobi Regency and Bombana Regency.

Aliansi Masyarakat Adat Nusantara (AMAN) or the Indigenous Peoples' Alliance of the Archipelago in English, is an Indonesian indigenous peoples' human rights and advocacy organization founded in 1999. AMAN has established 21 Regional Chapters (PW) and 114 Regional Chapters (PD) in 33 provinces. AMAN currently comprises 2,272 indigenous communities with an estimated population of over 15 million people.
