Lembi Leima (English: The Goddess Of Forest) is a 2022 Indian Manipuri short film directed by Mayank Pratap Singh. [1] It is produced by Rj Star Production and Bijou Thaangjam under the banner of Cicada Film Production. The film got official selection at the Rajnigandha Jagran Film Festival 2023. It was the opening as well as the closing film at the 1st Northeast Film Festival 2023, Mumbai. [2]

Plot

The film centers around the feasibility of palm cultivation in a remote village of Manipur. Surjabala gives a red signal in going ahead with the cultivation, citing environmental concerns. Taibungo has problems with Surjabala's assessment as it will have severe consequences on his business. The former plots to avoid the latter's interference in the affairs.

His main mentor in acting and cinema is his eldest brother and celebrated filmmaker, Ojitbabu Ningthoujam. He started portraying lead roles in movies, starting with the 2014 film Leikai Lallumba.
