Les Amis is a fine-dining restaurant in Singapore serving French cuisine. [1] The restaurant opened in 1994 as the flagship of the Les Amis Group. It received its third Michelin star in 2019.

Cuisine

The restaurant specializes in classic French haute cuisine. [2]

Wines

Les Amis has an extensive wine cellar which in 2020 included more than 3000 bottles. [3] [4] Most of the wines are French, mainly Burgundy and Bordeaux. [5]

Recognition

The restaurant was named one of the best in Singapore by The Daily Telegraph in 2016. [6] It was the recipient of the World Gourmet Summit's Wine List of the Year award in multiple years and was inducted into the organization's Awards Of Excellence Hall of Fame in 2009. [7] It was also the recipient of the World Gourmet Summit's Old World Wine List of the Year award multiple times and was inducted into the Awards Of Excellence Hall of Fame in 2014. [8]

In 2013 Restaurant magazine named Les Amis to its inaugural list of the Top 50 Restaurants in Asia and several times thereafter. [9] [10] [11] [12] It named pastry chef Cheryl Koh Asia's Best Pastry Chef in 2016. [13]

The restaurant received two stars in the Michelin Guide's inaugural 2016 Singapore edition. [14] In September 2019 it received a third Michelin star, along with another Singaporean fine-dining French restaurant, Odette. [15]

Personnel

The restaurant was opened in 1994 by restaurateur and sommelier Ignatius Chan and chef Justin Quek with backing from stockbroker Desmond Lim and Chong Yap Seng. [16] In 2003, following the departure of Chan and Quek, Gunther Hubrechsen became chef de cuisine, followed by Thomas Mayr and in 2008 Armin Leitgeb. [16] As of 2013 Sebastien Lepinoy was chef de cuisine [17] and as of 2016 Cheryl Koh the pastry chef. [18]

André Chiang is a Taiwanese chef and owner of five restaurants. He is the former head chef of the three Michelin star restaurant Le Jardin des Sens in France. He is known for his "Octo-philosophy" of eight elements which make up his dishes. In 2017, his Michelin 2-star eponymous Restaurant André was named the Best Restaurant in Singapore, and the second-best in Asia by Restaurant magazine.

Restaurant André was a fine-dining restaurant in Singapore that served French Nouvelle cuisine. The restaurant was opened on 10 October 2010 by André Chiang, who also served as the head chef. The restaurant had since closed on 15 February 2018.

Cheryl Koh is a Singaporean pastry chef who works at French restaurant Les Amis in Singapore. She was named Asia's Best Pastry Chef 2016 by The World's 50 Best Restaurants.

Saint Pierre is a Michelin-starred French cuisine restaurant in Singapore. Named after the Saint Pierre Chapel in Notre-Dame de Paris, it serves Asian-French cuisine. It was opened by Belgian-born chef Emmanuel Stroobant and his Malaysian-Chinese wife Edina Hong.

Pang Kok Keong is a chef in Singapore. He was the chef-owner of Antoinette, a home-grown Parisian-style pâtisserie, restaurant and salon du thé that features French cuisine and pastries. The dishes offered are made from a combination of traditional French techniques and modern cooking methods. He is also the owner of "Sugar Daddy Group" while Antoinette was running. He now runs his new venture SuperCurry and has a store front for Hakka noodles.
