Les Respectables is a Canadian rock band that was founded in Quebec City in 1991.
In 1992, Les Respectables won first place in a competition run by Montreal radio station, CHOM-FM, and the band also reached the grand final of Yamaha Music's "Sunfest" held in Gimli, Manitoba, Canada. Les Respectables subsequently released their first album, entitled No Dogs, No Band, in 1993. Despite an exhausting promotional tour, the success of the album remains modest. The group made a resurgence in 1997 with Full Regalia, a second full-length effort that was considered more mature, with a greater degree of nuance present in the songwriting.
In 1999, the band released its first album with the Record label, : Les Disques Passeport, $ = happiness (also known by its French title, "$ = bonheur"). The first single release from the album, "L'homme 7 Up", gained the band a considerable level of attention and the 7 Up company eventually purchased the rights to the song for advertising purposes. Subsequent single releases, "Amalgame", "Plaisir" and "Holà décadence" received heavy rotation on commercial radio that carried over into the next decade. The band then completed a tour of Quebec and a sixth single release, "L'argent fait le bonheur" (Money Is Happiness), reached the top placement in the music charts [ clarification needed ] and remained in this position for over two months.
In this time period the band received various awards and tackled the production of a fourth album, Quadrosonic, produced in collaboration with Gordie Johnson, former member of the Canadian band Big Sugar. In January 2003, opening for the Rolling Stones at the Bell Centre in Montreal, Les Respectables played a well-received set.
On May 23, 2007, the band celebrated 15 years with the release of the DVD, Les Respectables 15th Anniversary, Live at the Bell Center. Over 5,000 copies were sold. Les Respectables played on stage at the Salle Wilfrid-Pelletier Center of Arts, along with the Montreal Symphony Orchestra, while providing another memorable performance.
The group continued to go on tour in Quebec. In 2009 The Great Sweet Mama, the band's new album, was produced and co-written by Gordie Johnson, "Big Sugar"’s former front man. It was their first English album in ten years. [1] Keyboardist, Ian McLagan (The Rolling Stones, The Faces), also lent his talent on several songs. The Great Sweet Mama was recorded in part at Willie Nelson’s Pedernales Studios in Texas, US, and Mixart Studios in Montreal.

Our Lady Peace is a Canadian rock band formed in Toronto, Ontario in 1992. Led by lead vocalist Raine Maida since its formation, the band currently also features Duncan Coutts on bass, Steve Mazur on guitars, and Jason Pierce on drums. The band has sold several million albums worldwide, won four Juno Awards, and won ten MuchMusic Video Awards—the most MMVAs ever awarded to a band. Bran Van 3000 is a Canadian alternative rock and hip hop collective from Montreal, Quebec. Founded by James Di Salvio and E.P. Bergen, they collaborated on a number of songs with Stéphane Moraille, Sara Johnston, Steve "Liquid" Hawley, Jayne Hill, Jean Leloup, Kim Bingham, Pierre-Luc Cerat and many other musicians.
Big Sugar is a band formed in Toronto in 1988 by Gordie Johnson, the band's lead singer, lead guitarist and main songwriter. Between 1996 and 2016, Big Sugar was among the top 25 best-selling Canadian bands in Canada. They are still active today, releasing new music, vinyl re-releases and touring.

Stripped is a live album by the English rock band the Rolling Stones released in November 1995 after the Voodoo Lounge Tour. It contains six live tracks and eight studio recordings. The live tracks were taken from four 1995 performances, at three small venues, and include a cover of Bob Dylan's "Like a Rolling Stone", which was the first single from the album. The remaining eight tracks were acoustic studio re-recordings of songs from the Stones' previous catalogue, the exception being a cover of Willie Dixon's "Little Baby". The studio performances were recorded "live," i.e., without overdubs.
Sarah Neufeld is a Canadian violinist who is known for her work with indie rock band Arcade Fire, with whom she is a former core member and currently a touring member. She has contributed to each of the band's studio albums to date. Neufeld is also a member of the instrumental band Bell Orchestre.

Ève Cournoyer was a Canadian singer-songwriter from Quebec, most prominent in the 2000s. She was most noted for winning the SOCAN Songwriting Prize in the French division for her song "Tout arrive" in 2006.
