Leslie John Raymond Irvine MBE (born 23 June 1958 in Derry, Northern Ireland) is a former Northern Irish professional football referee. [1] He was a full international for FIFA until his retirement in 2003. [2] He refereed four Irish Cup finals.

Irvine was appointed Member of the Order of the British Empire (MBE) in the 2024 New Year Honours for services to association football. [3]

The 2000 UEFA European Under-21 Championship was the 12th staging of UEFA's European Under-21 Championship. The final tournament was hosted by Slovakia from 27 May to 4 June 2000. The tournament had 47 entrants. Northern Ireland competed for the first time. For the first time a finals tournament with two groups of four teams was held, with one of those teams, Slovakia, having been chosen as the hosts. The top four teams in this competition qualified for the 2000 Summer Olympics.

Alan Gordon Snoddy is a retired Northern Irish football referee, known for having refereed two matches in the FIFA World Cup: one in 1986 and one in 1990. At the 1986 World Cup Snoddy was appointed to referee the game between Morocco and Portugal in Guadalajara which ended 3–1 to Morocco. In the 1990 World Cup Snoddy refereed the game between Colombia and West Germany which ended 1–1 at the San Siro in Milan.
