Levan Korgalidze (born 21 February 1980) is a former Georgian midfielder and current manager of Georgian Erovnuli Liga club Iberia 1999.
Korgalidze played regularly for the Georgia national under-21 football team. His debut called up to the national team was in 2003.
He is the son of Otar Korghalidze.
Korgalidze started his coaching career in 2017 at Saburtalo Tbilisi at youth level. In the summer of 2018, he joined Locomotive Tbilisi as assistant manager and head coach of U15s. In April 2019, following some unsatisfactory results, Locomotive fired the manager, replacing him with Korgalidze. [1] Under his leadership, the team not only climbed out of the drop zone, but also qualified for the 2020 Europa League for the first time since 2008.
In early March 2020, the Erovnuli Liga season was suspended due to COVID-19 with Locomotive on top of the table after initial two rounds. By the time the matches resumed in July, the sides had parted ways at the club when a disagreement arose over the planned 70% cut of salaries. [2]
In September 2020, Korgalidze returned to Saburtalo as a head coach. [3] The next year, he guided the team to the Georgian Cup title, but left the club by mutual agreement on 8 June 2022. [4]
In November 2023, Korgalidze was appointed as a manager at Kazakhstan Premier League club Zhetysu, who had just won the promotion from the First Division. [5] On 21 May 2024, he left the club by mutual consent. [6]
Six weeks later Korgalidze was appointed at Saburtalo for the third time with the club renamed as Iberia 1999. [7]
