Oh plays Ray McAffey in the Netflix series Boots which premiered on October 9, 2025. Oh found playing Ray on the series a "gift", not only for the deep storyline and the friendships, but also allowing him to authentically play a mixed Asian person. [1] With regards to his role, Oh reveals that his best friend in real life from home is gay, so he was immediately drawn to the friendship between Ray and Cameron—a kind of friendship that is not very often seen in film or TV according to him. [2] Oh and co-star Miles Heizer told People about their experience getting buzz cuts for the show. Heizer and Oh were not necessarily upset to make such a drastic change to their look for the series.
