Code 3 is a 2024 American action comedy film written by Christopher Leone and Patrick Pianezza, directed by Leone and starring Rainn Wilson, Lil Rel Howery and Aimee Carrero. [1] The film premiered on September 12, 2024, at the Toronto International Film Festival.
The film follows a 24-hour shift of busy, overworked and nearly burned out paramedics. Jessica (Aimee Carrero) is training to replace Randy (Rainn Wilson), who is so exhausted by the job that he is forcing himself to quit. Before resigning, Randy must first train his replacement, Jessica, during his last shift. [2]
In January 2023, it was announced that Wilson and Howery would star and executive produce the film. [5] Later that same month, it was announced that Carrero was cast opposite Wilson and Howery. [1] In February 2023, it was announced that Brown, Kennedy and Fuller were cast in the film and that production was underway. [3] Later that same month, it was announced that Harris was cast. [4]
Filming occurred in Santa Clarita, California in February 2023. [6]
The film premiered in the Industry Selects program at the 2024 Toronto International Film Festival on September 12, 2024. [7]
