The Liberty Local School District formed sometime in the early 20th century, with the consolidation of several one-room school buildings.
In July 2011, the Liberty Local School District declared a fiscal emergency due to financial challenges it faced at the time, laying off nearly two dozen employees. [3] The district ended their fiscal emergency in 2014. [4]
